Ironing service - those who use or run one do they / you have insurance?

Hi posting her as well as work topic. Am looking into setting up ironing service and have read all relevant threads on here and made notes but no-one mentions having indemnity insurance. Does this mean you (the business owner) don't have it if you are only small scale? Or do you assume you will sort out any problems / mistakes amicably with customers should there be any?

I use an ironing service weekly but to be honest I've never given insurance a second thought.

It is a one woman organization so I'd assume mistakes would be few and far between, well 2 years using them and no accidents so far (touching wood)

Thats kind of what i thought - you would hope any problems (god forbid) could be sorted ... just one website mentioned the insurance and got me worrying!! We wouldn't have even thought about it 10 years ago. Thanks for your input - just to be cheeky do you mind me asking how much you pay and wether that includes collection / delivery? I'm in Devon - in case you think i am in competition.
Thanks

I used to use a service and they did have insurance. I wouldn't consider using anyone who didn't to be honest.

Ok thanks for that islandofsodor.

Mine is a one woman operation as well, and I've also never given insurance a second thought, no problems so far.

She picks up one day and delivers back the next, sometimes she picks up and delivers the same day but prior agreement with me.

The cost depends on how much I put in the bag, this week I sent all my ironing, all DH's and DD's bedding and it cost £22.50. I'm in the East Midlands.
