My new Henry sucks too hard

I bought a Henry vacuum because so many people on here raved about them, but I'm finding that he's a bit too powerful. Most of my carpets are a really short pile but it's still very hard work to move the head about. Am I doing something wrong?

I must be relatively clean minded, I thought it was a breastfeeding thread.

The chances are that the little vent on the metal hose is blocked. The black plastic cover comes off to reveal a mini filter, clean this (it should be a black filter) and re-insert, put cap back on and see if Henry still sucks too hard.
