Just wondering if anyone out there is organised enough to do certain chores on specific days - mil is and I am now wondering if it would help my pnd recovery (nearly there) if I adopted a vagueish attempt... will be back at work three days a week though in 6 weeks so will need it to be things I can do before/after work on those days. Any suggestions? Does everyone eslse just muddle on through too??

I wouldnt do this to youself. You'll only beat yourself up if you dont manage to stick to it.

I just do things as I notice them. Then once every two weeks I go right through the house and do everything. I takes three hours.

I actually have a cleaner now though who I pay £14 a week to do all the cleaning... worth considering!

not really apart from the laundry, which I tend to do at the weekend.

I do.
Mondays is round with the feather duster, polishing and hoovering.
Tuesdays is change all bedding and wipe down walls
Wednesday is mirrors, windows, wipe down sofas, proper clean of high chair
Thursdays bleach nappy wrapper and cat litter tray and hoover
Fridays is pushchair, change bags and polish glass shelves in bathroom.

Every morning I clean bath, tiles (whilst in shower), bathroom sink and toilet, I then sweep and mop hallway and bathroom floor.
Every evening I wipe down all kitchen counters and cupboard doors, sweep and mop kitchen and living room.

When I suffered PND after ds2 was born, I joined with FLYlady which gives clear guidance on housework.
It just helped me feel in control of something iyswim.

If I don't get the jobs done, it doesn't really matter, they just waqit til the following week , but I normally do get it all done because there's not that much there.

Wash bedclothes and towels on Thursdays, but only because our cleaner comes o Friday and she then makes up the beds and folds and puts away clean towels

That's really useful, thanks, although a little intimidating!! I really like the idea of having certain days to do specific jobs - so that I don't forget to do anything like changing the beds! I'll give it some thought.... always interesting to know how other people do things...
While I'm on the subject - sort of - we live in a small house - dh and I and ds1 who is 11 and ds2, 15 months - they share a room. Anyone got any fail safe storage tips? Anything from toys to tupperware would be useful. I love being organised but trying to find a place for everything can be really tricky. Thank you
