fan assisted oven not working

I have a Creda C366E and the fan seems to have stopped working in the main oven part, my husband put fishfingers in there the other night and after an hour the ice had melted and the FF were floppy, there was no attempt on the ovens part to cook them. Its only 4 years old if that and dont really want to shell out for a new one. It normally make a whirring sounds when it kicks in but isnt doing this. I have a feeling the fan might still be turning but the oven isnt heating up.

I cant check if it is turning as it stops turning when oven door is opened (this is actually part of the oven feature not a fault lol)

It might be worth mentioning that there is some sort of faint warmth after about an hour of it being on, but like I said the heat was only enough to melt the ice not actually cook, the shelves etc could be touched with no problem of burning ourselves

Is there an easy solution? Also only one side of the grill works, the element on one side heats up and glows but not the otherside. Any advice greatly appreciated.

It might be the element. You can replace this yourself really easily. Ours went last year, same as you describe. DH found a website which sold new elements and showed you, step by step, how to replace it. Whole thing cost about £25. Can't remember the website, but if you google 'heating element + cooker model' it should get you there

My DH is a DIY disaster, and he managed no problem It really was very simple.

Make sure you unplug it first!

Quite easy to fix this problem but if you get it wrong you risk electrocuting yourself or some one else, I think it is much better to let a professional do his or her job, its not a expensive job about £45 plus parts, try this link Washing machine repairs and electric oven repairs
