Do you have a "Routine"

I've neber been very good with housework, although my house is clean just not very tidy.

We are moving into our new place this weekend and really want to make an effort to keep things nice (Is it possible with a 1yr old)

I was thinking of making up a routine/planner splitting all the big jobs into daily manageable tasks. I'm hoping this way the house will stay tidy, I am not overwhelmed and I'm not spending all day cleaning.

So do you have a routine/planner and what does it look like.

Have you ever looked at the "flylady" routines/method? there are often threads related to that posted on here. Its an american website (a little twee at times) but I have found it really helps me (Although I do keep falling off the wagon and getting back on again! This is "allowed" though!)

Have a look www.flylady.net/

my routine is this - wait until the floor mess is unbearable and then put it all away in the toy crates. This lasts until DS (2.4) wakes up and pulls them all out again.

DS as a 1yo was a piece of cake compared to what he is now. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you - but perhaps just dedicate one room/ area to toy containment and then you can try and keep the rest tidy(er).

Good luck!

lifeas3plus1 - thats what I found good about it - it starts off really easy as 15 minutes per day or something like that, then gradually ou add on extra stuff but only once you have de-cluttered an area and got used to the previous "habit"

Ive never got as far as having a control journal (not sure I ever will!) but you can just hop back in wherever you want if you let it slide (which happens often for me!)

Dreamteamgirl - I am impressed - that is great - I think of myself as organised but to write it down and see it planned out is great - will pinch your idea! keep up the good work
