I know that I sound like a complete snob and I do apologise but my only experience of launderettes is from Eastenders!

I do not have a tumble drier and was contemplating doing my washing and taking it to the launderette to dry it all.

Is that possible?

Can I leave it there to dry while I do something else?

Is there someone on duty or is it possible that someone could nick all my washing?!!

Is it expensive?

TIA

I've gone to the shop next door, but yes someone can nick your washing though why anyone would want to I don't know. You could put them in for a service wash and then they'd be done for you.

A tramp once came into the launderette I used to go to, took off a filthy coat and put it in a tumble dryer to dry. Put me off that did.

I've used launderettes on many occasions and whilst some are staffed, most prob won't be over the bank hol.

If it is staffed though, many launderettes refuse to let you just tumble dry your home-washed stuff. I assume it's because they charge about £3 to wash your stuff (powder extra), whereas it'll cost about £1.20 for the drier.

Service washes used to be about a tenner for a pretty big bag of stuff, but when I was a student they used to weigh your service wash on the scales and charge accordingly. I found service washes good, but occasionally you got someone's Y-fronts or an odd sock in your bag!

Your washing can't get nicked whilst the washing machine is still running, but can do from a tumble drier.
