any ideas for how to get wee smells out of carpets - potty training disasters! carpets are great for crawling on and tipping noisy bricks onto but wish i had laminate now we are potty training. My vax rapide seems useless, that 1001 stuff isnt getting rid of the smell, any idea?

Whenever dd wee'd on the carpet I soaked up as much as poss with kitchen roll and then went over it with a cloth and diluted dettol or zoflora, never had a smell problem and we have had LOTS of accidents.

i have a bissell carpet cleaner and use a mix of white vinegar and water instead of carpet shampoo. cleans really well and gets rid of all smells.

We have tried bakiing powder but it didn't work for us. Does white vinegar not smell?

smells like a chippy while the carpets are drying! but once dry the vinegar smell disappears and the carpets just smell clean and fresh.

right, I am going to try that! how do you apply it? dilute?

i use it in my bissell carpet cleaner. if it is just a patch then i would mix white vinegar and water 50:50 and slosh it on, leave it to sit for a few minutes then get some towels and jump up and down to absorb the excess water!
