Designing a bathroom - who can help?

Hi. Apart from Moben (and for horror stories on them please see other current thread on mumsnet somewhere) are there any design companies that will come and design a bathroom? I have stagnated trying to get this done and looking for someone to give some inspiration. Thanks

We went to a few local bathroom companies, and asked them to do a design. And the nice men are currently in the bathroom constructing it.

They have been fantastic so far - real attention to detail and making it all right

CMOT - did they really design the whole thing, rather than just recommending products? We have a similar need - bathroom needs to be gutted and start from scratch - but we need ideas, followed by designs and drawings (stupid listed buildings consent ) so I am on the same quest as the OP.

Yes, whole thing, including tiles, lights etc etc, and included proper drawings.

Tis Orillo in Worcester that we are using, so they'd cover your area. Nicole is excellent and really listened to what we wanted and made suggestions of things we might like to maximise the rooms potential. The guys who are doing it are very neat and tidy, polite, and turn up exactly when they say they will

I had forgotten you were local. I am on it. Thankyou.

Stressed - I hope you find someone too

If you call them, tell them it's the job Steve is on at the moment that recommended them - they are hard at work as we speak

stressed2007 · 30/03/2010 12:54

I think I need to move to Worcester

Stressed - where are you based?

I can recommend a good place in SW London

stressed2007 · 30/03/2010 13:54

North London/Herts. I have been to a few shops round here and no one seems interested in designing a bathroom for you. I am afraid I don't find it very inspiring wandering round a showroom looking at random loos/baths etc.

I agree, it all looks meaningless after a while.

We have just bought a new bathroom for a room that's yet to be built as part of our loft conversion.

We went to Burge and Gunson (as recommended by my mother and sister, both interior designers) in Colliers Wood - though I think they may have somewhere else in London, you could check online.

We took in a scale outline drawing and he spent 2-3 hours with us working out how best to fit everything in and discussing the 'look' we wanted.

TBH if you want someone to come to your house and also give advice re lighting and wall colors you are probably best looking for an interior designer.

I agree but no idea how to go about finding one on the same lines as me? Also don't want to end up paying as much for the design as paying for the sanitaryware though obviously the designer has to charge something.

My sister works for Hill House - a company based outside London (can't remember where ) but you could google them. A good designer should find your style.

TBH, because the designers buy everything at trade and charge you retail costs, they do not always charge very much for the design.

The trade discounts are anything from 15-40%!!!

Mmm, website looks a bit footballers' wives though!!!!!

But my sister has good taste obviously!!

I can't imagine they don't cost a fortune.

Bumping in the hope that someone has a slightly cheaper option.
