... well its a bit grubby. and I already turned the cushions over.
on the cover it says dry clean only. I dont want to spend too much money, as its part of the rented flat. don
t want to use harsh cemicals either because of small children.

any tips?

There are lots of upholstery cleaners in the phone book. They cost about £20 a time and you could ask your landlord to sort one out for you. He might even pay because he can offset the cost against tax or maybe go halves. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

Just remember to air the room afterwards so the fumes can escape.

If the covers are removable then they should come up well in the washing machine but don't tumble dry them as they may shrink.
What sort of material is it?

We've got a big squidgy cream sofa that's dry clean only but after spending £50 getting them cleaned after about 3 weeks a while I decided to put them in the wash and they came up lovely. I do it A couple of times year.

Put them on a 30 wash with some bio liquid and line dry.

it*s a sort of cottony fabric.

do you use delicate wash, worzsel?

I dud to start with but now it's just a normal easy care cycle.

Mines quite thick cord like fabric though.

I looked at the label now, they are cotton. so will put at least the seat cushion covers in the wash.

the living room will be much brighter after that
