What is your weekly shopping budget?

Just wondering how I am doing really, whether I should keep it as is or whether I am too tight/loose with spending.

Basically - £100 per week budget. Often come in under at £80 and sometimes, get to £120. 2 adults, one 3yrs and newborn(no food).

Includes toiletries, newborn nappies, washing powder/liquid etc.

I make all meals from scratch using lots of fresh fruit and veg. All meals are eaten in house or as a packed lunch at work. Does this sound about right?

sounds reasonable to me. pat yourself on the back!

can save money by buying nappies and other baby stuff in bulk when they are on offer and collect all your points, eg boots and tescos really adds up. I also clip coupons and use them.

It will fluctuate from week to week but the average sounds ok to me. I know there has been another thread like this before, and some very canny mums were managing on a lot less.

I'm sure other mnetters will come up with mone y saving tips.

Sounds ok to me. We budget around £500 a month and there are 5 of us. No babies though so no nappies to buy.

Do you use Aldi/Lidl at all? I can't fault them for affordable basics like fruit/veg/chesse etc.

As I recall we got on quite well with Lidl nappies too when dc were babies.

I only really use either Morrisons or Tesco - just simply because of location/parking/ease with newborn. I like to get everything in one place, on a Friday afternoon. That all lasts the week. No top ups. I HATE shopping!

we spend on average £85 per week thats for 2 adults and 1 toddler. DS only in nappies for bedtime, that has saved us a bit recently.

Usually £70 (at sainsbos, asda, tesco or M&S) in one large shop which inc toiletries, washing tablets, cleaning stuff etc, then about £15 during week for fresh milk, bread and whatever we need. I usually get bread and milk from farmfood, they are doing really good deals at the moment.

that covers meals and packed lunches, oh and DS eats lunch at nursery 3 days a week.

We've spent much more this week but that's extra food as we're having a party tomorrow.
