Ugh sweaty clothes still smell after wash

Any ideas on how to get the sweaty smell out of clothes?

They've been washed with non-bio at 65 degrees and still smell! It's sports kit so they're sweatier than normal clothes might be but I wouldn't want to wear them as they are.

I don't get this problem myself but Biotex(powder or pre-wash spray) is pretty good at shifting nasties.

Bio powder. If you don't want ot wash with it, pre-soack in a solution.

Other thing is to rub washing up liquid in the smelly bits before washing (will only work if it's not the whole item!) or shampoo. They are made for removing greasy stuff

It's the whole item - they just get drenched in sweat! I shall look for the local equivalent of biotex.

I use dettol disinfectant for the sports stuff. Instructions are on the bottle. DH is training for a triathlon, so there is a lot of smelly stuff that can only endure 30°c gentle wash...

Use neat white vinegar on the worst bits e.g. underarms. I read somewhere that this is best done as soon as the garment is taken off, even if you don't launder it straightaway.

Alternatively leave them to soak in a 40 deg solution of ariel bio overnight, then rinse before laundering as normal. My late grandad was a real whizz on the good housekeeping front and didn't have a washing machine. He swore by this tip and all have his laundry was spotless.

Use the full amount of washing powder. It may seem like a lot if you live in a hard water area. See on the box, e.g. it is a lot higher dose for heavily soiled items and yours would fit this category.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Bicarbonate of soda is a great smell neutraliser.

I either use vinegar or bicarb!
