Which slow cooker should I buy?

I'm thinking it would be very handy. Grateful for a recommendation of which one's best. We are usually 3 adults and 3 children, so I'm guessing a 6.5l one would make sense. I like having leftovers to freeze or to take for lunch the next day.

TIA

I have an old tefal one with brown ceramic dish thing and brown plastic outer. Looks hideous so bought a new stainles steel argos one, argos one rubbish as sides heat up very aggressively and stuff sticks to it, old brown one far better. To be fair argos one only £14.99 spend a bit more and it will be fine, I think I would go for one where you can use the pan on the hob so you can do all your browning and frying in that before you stick in the slowpot bit of the machine otherwise you have an extra pan to wash up.

I'd go for the biggest you can find.

Mine is old and smallish and was really nowhere near big enough when my three older DCs were all still living at home.

I bought DD1 a 6.5l one for Christmas. I don't think she was that impressed but I thought it would be handy to make meals for her, her DH and my DGS.

Now she's addicted! She uses it almost every day and is having great fun trying out different recipes.

Thanks very much. I thought bigger would be better - I have 3 boys and am sure in a couple of years they'll be eating giant quantities. I fancy the v.hi tech looking cuisinart one.

There have been a couple of other slow cooker threads recently.

I have just bought one

sainsburys

it is more than enough for us (2 adults 2 DCs aged 4 and 6) but might not be big enough for you. Impressed with the results so far though.
