i have a rangemaster type thing. double oven and grill. i am muchly pleased with the thing. the double oven is handy.

mistlethrush · 09/02/2010 15:22

We have a smeg oven which we bought from the previous owners of the house. We will never get a smeg again. It takes ages to warm up and the small burner on the top really doesn't like working.

We will, at some stage in the future, replace it with a range cooker with at least 2 ovens so that we've got a small one that heats up quickly as well as a reasonably large sized one.

twooter · 09/02/2010 15:27

EBC - is yours a 110 or a 90cm?

I have a double oven stoves newhome whilst the cooker itself is great the doors for some reason get v discouloued despite everyday cleaning therefore ive called them out 3 times to replace the doors ....the reason they suggest is cos i cook meat in my oven

tibni · 09/02/2010 15:33

Another fan of the Rangemaster, I have the 90 and I love it.

twooter · 09/02/2010 15:55

i think the 90 would fit our kitchen best, but not sure how useful the narrow oven is?

110, i like the acreage

Krugerellie · 09/02/2010 16:24

I have a three oven AGA. FWIW, I could have bought a two oven second hand, but insisted on a three oven which had not been out long and so no second hand ones available. Don't really need the third oven for baking, as can manage with hot oven and a cold shelf, so could have saved a bit of money there

Pineapplechunks · 09/02/2010 16:26

Electrolux premier. Double oven- totally pointless, never use the top oven. It's very smokey and quite fierce and I would advise anyone not to buy it.

twooter · 09/02/2010 16:31

thanks everyone. i currently have 110cm covered in newspaper on my worktop, and am trying to work out if it looks too huge

Ohh! I've ordered a Rangemaster Kitchener 900mm with 2 ovens.I'm so excited about getting it,my current cooker is 20 years old and only has 3 working rusty, nasty rings.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 09/02/2010 20:25

A two oven Esse range cooker with an electric Esse module. I love it, I have the choice of 4 ovens (great at Christmas) and can use 8 saucepans at once (not that I ever do!)

twooter · 09/02/2010 21:04

I've not heard of an esse before, pantryboy. I liked the look of the Kitchener too,. I think I'm probably going to stick to a rangemaster of some sort. Were you tempted by the 1100 ratherthan the 900 mm?

I have a Neff built in double oven. Can't fault it really.

SoupDragon · 09/02/2010 21:09

My parents have a Rangemaster of some sort. 2 ovens and a grill I think (or 3 ovens). My Mum likes the rack onthe door that you put a joint of meat on to cook so it comes out when you open the door. I couldn't face all that bending down to get stuff out though.

chegirlsgotheartburn · 09/02/2010 21:21

I have a Stove range oven.

It has one fan oven, one ordinary oven and a little slow oven that you can defrost in. It has a wok burner and 6 gas burners. The ovens are electric.

What I like best about it is that it is baby pink.

CaptainUnderpants · 09/02/2010 21:25

neff double oven , series 2.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 09/02/2010 21:35

twooter, DH calls our Esse 'a poor man's aga'
It's like an Aga, although cooking timings are slightly different. It was in the house when we moved in and initially we wre going to swap it for an Aga, but we have come to love it.
I actually prefer the top to our old Aga as it has what they call a 'dogbone' hotplate which means you can fit more pans on

twooter · 09/02/2010 21:59

chegirls - i take it you're pleased with how it works as well as the pink

i was tempted by the built in slow cooker in some of the Stoves, but our current cooker is a Stove, and although it cooks well enough, all the writing has come off it, so you can't see what you've got the setting at.

twooter - we managed to get 7 pizzas in our narrow oven when dd had a party. Sometimes I find the space more practical than the larger oven. When I don't use the oven I use the plate rack to store my oversized plates.

chegirlsgotheartburn · 09/02/2010 23:05

twooter I dont really like cooking much TBH. I do cook every day but only because I have to.

Doing it all on a pink cooker makes it so much more fun.

But it does seem to be a good make and model.

AND ITS PINK

I have an new electrolux touch control. Its a double but not as in the width - one on top of the other if you get me but both top and bottom oven are very useable. Last night I cooked a curry in a casserol dish in the top oven.
I noticed that alot of double ovens had one fan and one convection, just some had it stacked and some next to each other. Two fan ovens was extortiante but must be lovley to have!

I have closed door grilling too which is handy with a toddler.

The no knobs is great, DS cant turn it on! And great from a clean point of view.

I am thrilled with it and it was worth every penny.

It is A rated i think but very fast to heat and cooks great.

i have 2 neff ovens- one standard and the other an oven/grill microwave combination- couldnt be happier- they are built into a unit on top of each other. this way you get a double oven, save the space that a microwave would take up and free up space for cupboards/dishwasher etc.

meltedmarsbars · 10/02/2010 10:36

Aga - I love it
