John Lewis washing machine and nappies

Right I have replaced crappy Hoover machine with spanking new JL one - so why the hell won't it clean DS' nappies, any ideas?

I have tried the prewash and stain and intensive washes and even have done an extra rinse and STILL there are poo crumbs in there!

I can't keep washing for hours like this, I mean the machine is fab generally but does have incredibly long wash cycles without having to keep rewashing pooey nappies.

It is only the nappies I seem to have this problem with. Even my crappy old one was better at poo removal than this . DH will be cross after spending so much money on it.

I think I'm right that the JL machines are Siemens

I think that they are AEG rather than Siemens (info supplied by DS2 who is a temporary JL partner, though not much into washing machines apart from delivering them to customers).

I've got a JL washing machine, and use bum genius nappies - I use the 'soak' programme (40 mins) with a bit of washing powder, followed by 60 degrees 'quick' programme and the poo stains seems to be banished! Also use tots bots disposable liners so most of the poo gos down the loo. Good luck!

Sorry, got a bit confused, but is there just a rinse cycle? The one on our Bosch is 15 minutes, and seems to work. I then do a 40 degree 40 minute wash.

But if it isn't working for nappies, and let's face it, a major part of your laundry, then take it back. You will need to write to them explaining why, and perhaps, um, a few photos. You may need to call Customer Services and ask for an engineer to come around (free on warranty) to see whether there is a fault with the machine, which there probably isn't, so you can then say that it isn't fit for purpose.
