Scented candles

I can't be the only sad case who has a 'thing' about them, can I?

I used to think they were totally naff, but a friend bought me a Dipthyque candle (Mimosa...yum) and now I have turned into one of those sad bints who covets ridiculously priced bits of wax! I nearly ordered the Diptyque Rose one online last night but gave myself a sharp talking to (£35 could buy DS a pair of school shoes, pay my phonebill etc etc )

Tell me I am not alone. Maybe indulge in a bit of candle porn chat with me?

You are not alone! I know they are ridiculously expensive but I love them too. My parents asked me what I wanted for Xmas so I asked them to get me a scented candle - they bought me a horrid cheap thing from M&S that hardly smells at all . I bought several friends lovely ones from Voluspa (?) from Peter Jones, they were about £18 each and absolutely gorgeous

have you tried tk maxx? they always have loads of scented candles, and usually a good selection from recognisable brands - y'know the sort, made with real essential oils.

I love them too and asked for some for christmas. I got a good selection of them from Price's and Yankee, both of which make my whole house smell lovely.

Make your own very cheaply. See thread on Arts and Crafts forum called something like I've made my Jo Malone/Dyptych ... I did it and now making my friends/relatives candles that are so easy to make in a microwave and smell divine!
