ok, new year and all that. i'm ready to give it another go...please direct me towards
a decent juicer - i require a whole fruit model, not ££££ just in case i give up again, reasonably easy to clean (main reason why i gave up in the past)

re citrus juicing, i am guessing i would need a good quantity of oranges to produce orange juice every day for a family of four. how much should one buy and where from? i could place an order on Abel&Cole though I am hardly likely to save any money??

My folks used the fitting on their magimix (over the hols) to make fresh orange juice each morning. I couldn't tell you exactly what model they have, but can highly recommend getting one as the juice was just so much nicer than the 'fresh orange juice' you get in the shops.

I bought the cheapest good quality masticating (meaning it kind of grinds up the fruit and veg so gets the most juice out of everything) juicer and that was a Matstone at £150 - here. I do carrot, apple and ginger almost every day so it has to deal with the hard stuff and it's fine. I borrowed one for a few weeks as I didn't think I'd stick with it but it was easier than I thought, though cleaning just is a bit annoying I'm afraid. Prob not worth the £150 if you only want to do fruit not veg though.

I don't know if it does citrus, we do orange juice for 2 on a little old manual squeezer, 2 oranges per person, usually get Sainsbury's 5/6 in a bag as they often have 2 for 1 or something off the price.

thanks - i know about Magimix Le Duo (?) but it did not seem to get good reviews

I am planning to juice more than citrus fruit actually. i used to have a lovely carrot, apple and nettle juice at a Thai restaurant which I have been longing to recreate for years. will look up Matstone as i have not heard the name before

i am not a complete novice to juicing - just used to the low-end, labour intensive, badly made machines which i am really planning to avoid at all costs
