Anyone have pale leather sofas and young dc?

Just wondering if it is a really bad idea. Do they mark easily or are they easy to clean?

We have 2 scabby old second hand sofas that I'm sick of- they are covered in throws but they don't match anything or each other. I have the chance to buy a large 3 and 2 seater, 18mth old leather sofa for a bargain price- should I go for it?

I have a cream leather sofa and its fine. I've tucked in cream fleeces on the bottom. the rule is no shoes or felt tip pens by the sofa.

hmm how old are your dc's Muppets? How do you enforce the rule? Currently we have a no jumping on the sofa rule but it doesn't work and I find myself telling them constantly not to do it. They tend to have shoes off all the time anyway.

sorry been really busy day.

my DD is 4yrs old.
Constantly have all her friends over tho.

Shoes come off when they walk in the front door, they know they can't walk through the flat with shoes on.

Also I have a largeish coffee table so put chairs around there and all the arts n crafts stuff on there. My DD is pretty good at keeping in check as she has OCD for being clean and tidy. Also reminds her friends of the rules lol.

I have a warning system. they get told once, if they do it again they get to the count of 3 to apologise or she goes on naughty step, if it happens again she goes straight on naughty step and has her toy/pens taken away till shes earnt them back.

DH once bought a car with the palest grey leather interior imaginable. He got it cheap as it looked like a family of coalminers had been living it for a decade. I got the leather clean, it took me 2 days, but after that I certainly wouldn't worry about having a cream leather sofa and kids. Lerather cleans, it's fab and I'd swap your cream leather for my beige cloth sofa - it ooks like it's been in Stig of the Dump's cave

leather and looks even, that'll teach me to preview in future.
