Just about to choose a wood floor and am choosing between one that has a small'v' shaped groove between the planks and one which does not. My question is , does anyone have experience of cleaning these? i have young children and it will be in the room they eat so lots of food spillage i expect! with the one with the 'v'groove will i be trying to get tiny bits of baked beans out with a small stick of the groove a lot? we are replacing a slate floor which was very bumpy and very hard to clean so want something a bit easier! many thanks

As long as you seal the joints you can use a well wrung out mop and it's fine.

we had a proper wooden floor and it was a complete pain in the backside and i would never have one again.
Even if it's well sealed you still have to get on your hands and knees and use something to poke the kitchen roll in between the gaps to soak up any spills.
If it's a small v shape and not a sodding great gap it should be ok.
