I am having people round tonight for a temple spa party, I was going to clean the house this morning but since I didn't get any slepp last night I slept instead, I thought I would do it after I picked dd2 up from nursery but she wanted cuddles and it would be rude to say no.
Since that point I have had some very bad news and am a little de motivated, dc's are fed now and in front of telly, I haven't even had a shower and people coming round at about 7. what is most important to make my house look ok and people not judge me.

make sure your loo and bathroom looks and smells nice - nothing worse than a whiffy loo - you could clean the bath while you have a shower?

Can you keep them out of the kitchen? If not - hide anything dirty!

Other than that - dust the coffee table, spray some polish about so it smells nice and put on dim lighting!

Have fun!

Ok bathroom, am onit, I will do exactley as i am told by anyone on here for the next however long, so shower and bathroom while dc watching telly would be a good start.

I'd nip round and empty all the waste-paper baskets - I always think the place looks bad when they're full with tissues and assorted junk.

And I second the bathroom/showerroom - people will be most bothered by those.

Flamesnores · 13/11/2009 16:27

Yup - loo, empty bins, hoover in the room you are using, hide any dishes.

You ok? (the bad news...)

thesockmonsterofdoom · 13/11/2009 16:28

right bathroom is cleaned, towels folded nicely etc, bins are all empty, downstairs stinks of the chips that we have just eaten so pots, kitchen bin and smelly candle next I think.

I'm worried about you

meep · 13/11/2009 16:44

maybe a long shot - but do you have any vailla pods - if so put one in the oven at a very low heat - smells like fresh baking (just don't forget about it!)

Sorry to hear you've had bad news

thesockmonsterofdoom · 13/11/2009 16:45

Did you hoover, a room normally looks alot better than it is if the floor is free from crumbs and dust.

Hhhmmmm, maybe I should do mine

thesockmonsterofdoom · 13/11/2009 16:56

right pots done, smelly candle lit, recycling taken down to cellar, buggy taken down to cellar. next job tidy toys away and hoover lounge.
