How do you clean your wok?

Mine- not non-stick- traditional type- has a thin layer of burnt on food- it looks black and is fairly smooth but every time I cook the food ends up with tiny bits of burnt black bits on it. Yuck.
Someone suggested caustic soda but i don't fancy eating ou t of it after that! Have spent ages with steel wool and some has shifted.

I have had to resort to reheating my wok with a bit of soap and a lot of water in it but I have heard that a used dryer sheet, left to soak in hot water overnight, can work wonders.

Hiya
I ahve heard that rubbing it down with salt gets rid of the build up.
If you have steel wooled it you will probably have to reseason it
Maybe worth sticking it on to boil with salt water in then scrubbing it and starting again with seasoning it?

Steel wool or pan scourer and cream cleanser type cleaner (eg jif or cif) and then reseason, will work just takes time!
