My latest long length bath mat has gone mouldy ridiculously quickly - do the mould resistant ones work?

We seem to have inherited one when we bought this house and it isn't mouldy yet. Not that I know how old it is but we've been here since August.

(I just thought, is it really scuzzy to use someone else's random bath mat?)

we got one from higgos.co.uk in May and it hasn't gone mouldy - it's extra-long and extra-soft. they come in white or blue

I have had one with holes (from Boots) going for 2.5 yrs now, and it's only just starting to go mouldy. The only way it's lasted so long is through religiously pulling it out of the bath and sticking it to the tiles to drip dry as soon as they've finished bathing, and then storing it rolled up by the basin once it's dry. I think they all go mouldy in the end, but my last one went much quicker when I was leaving it in more often.
