Where's the best place to buy a good quality duvet?

I'm looking for a king sized, medium-high tog duvet for the coming winter months.

Where is the best place to buy something of good quality? We've not got loads of money to spare for this but we do want to get something reasonably decent. Budget around £100 max. Is this possible?!

Any suggestions?

Duvet and pillow warehouse is where I get all mine from:
www.DuvetAndPillowWarehouse.co.uk

They do good reductions during the year. We have the Goose Feather and Down all seasons (ie splits into a summer and a an autumn divet, then together for a winter one). Looks like that would be £54 for a king size at the moment.

The more you pay the better the duvet....however, this grade of goose feather is fab. Have bought one for ds and for my spare room and sent one to my mum as well.

ooh, couple of recommendations for TK Maxx eh? Have to admit, I tend to avoid that place but I will look.

oh and thanks scaryteacher i wondered about that whole 'splitting' thing. That website you linked too looks really good! Good value too. I like!

Is there much difference between duck feather and goose feather?

The Hungarian down one from Duvet and Pillow warehouse is amazing and floats around you like a warm cloud. It is all we have on the bed in a freezing bedroom and worth every penny.

ooh thanks gentleotter... that sounds amazing!!

Fogaty make fab duvets, our winter one is one of theirs.
Our summer one came from House of Fraser, their own brand. It's also very good. They have a really good selection actually, including those All Seasons ones which come apart. We didn't bother with that as we already had our winter one which was only 6 months old.

I would think that for £100 you could get something of really good quality which would last you a long time.

Nothing sad about getting excited about duvets and bedding - we spend a lot of our lives in our beds!!

I buy bedding from the fine bedding company (available online here). I'd recommend the perfect balance duvet as easycare, non-allergenic and basically does exactly what it promises - keeps you really warm and cosy, without getting too hot. We have the 4 seasons - so a 4.5 tog and a 9 tog and only need the 9 tog in winter. But if you are just looking for a winter duvet then maybe go for a 10.5/13.5 tog? Though to be honest I just couldn't imagine ever needing a 13.5 tog, but that's just us!

I heard terrible things about them niki5893. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
