French baby tv - any channels available in London via satellite?

DH wants French satellite tv and French baby tv for DD. We have a box (not installed) and a dish on the side of the house (not aligned to a satellite).

Which tv channel (if any) would you recommend for DD (18 months)? We live in London.

Our 2 year old DD watches DVDs which we buy from France.

Don't know about receiving french channels by satellite (could maybe ask on the bilingual boards?), but have you thought about getting a slingbox? We have one which enables us to get UK tv in sweden. Our friends in the UK have the slingbox plugged into their tv and it gets magically sent down the internet to our telly in sweden which has a slingcatcher attached to it. It's based on place shifting the broadcast rather than time shifting (which is what sky plus is based on).
