I am pulling my hair out....

I seem to hoover up after my dog constantly - he only has to walk through a room and he sheds thick black hair. I hoover twice a day. Is this normal>>>>>>

How often do you hoover up your dog's hair?

hmm annoyingly i also seem to hoover once a day, it's mainly the dog's fault and my 18mth old dd who seems to wreck the joint!
Have you got a decent hoover? Our Dyson Animal can take the beating and is so much better than our previous hoovers - despite everyone i know being quite anti-dyson

No dog but I've 2 cats and am constantly hoovering up the hair! Am seriously thinking about getting them waxed

I do vacuum once a day, but more for the mess made by the dcs than the dog. My springer doesn't shed that much hair at this time of year.

Best things I can suggest are regular baths and grooming/trims for the dog, and daily or twice daily brushing or furminating - tackle the problem at source.

Iirc, a change of diet can reduce the amount of fur a dog sheds. Mine is on Burns, fwiw.

Agree with MummyElk on the animal Dyson. Not popular on MN but I wouldn't swap mine for ANYTHING.

i saw one if those episodes once of cleanaholics and the woman actually hoovered her dog.

I've considered hoovering my dog the hair she sheds is horrendous.
Really doen't help that we've black tiles in the kitchen (they were here when we moved in) and the dog is a yellow lab-not a good combination.

When she walks I can see the hair falling off her!
Sometimes of the year are worse than others but apparently it's because she lives in the house and the warmth makes them shed all year rather just in the summer as she would if she lived outside.

I cope by hoovering as much as I can, no carpets in the whole house and ignoring it.

It's lucky for her that I love her or she'd be GONE

It is a pain, isn't it! It can help a bit if you brush and bathe your dog more often but from past experience I would def. do any bathing outside, we used to do it in our old bathroom and when we got a new one fitted the state of the pipes was terribly clogged.
