Evening all

I have had the bastard of a day - sorry for the swearing, but I got a flat at the Tesco filling station and have spent the afternoon with the two monsters in the car waiting for AA (car doesnt have a spare), getting the new tyre and then the AA man had to fit it.

Garage wouldnt let me pay for it over the phone, so we nearly had to all decamp to AA van for the trip - in the end I rang our wonderful homestart lady and she came and collected the boys, whilst I sorted it out.

DH came home early to let her get home!!!!!

I have bought her chocs to say thankyou!!!

So got nothing done at home, have just got in and the boys are feral one of those days.

Oh and to cap it all off - MIL is 60 tomorrow (gymslip 60's bride - DH was born in 66 and we have been asking for the last 6 weeks what we were going to do, should we all go out for a lunchtime meal, so the children could come or a very early evening meal 5pm ish - DH has spoke to his brother who has kept stauling us.

Turns out they want to eat around 7ish - god lord our two go to bed at 7

So we have run MIL and asked her plans - she said they have none nad are going shopping in the afternoon, so DH siad OK - we are going to go up and pitch our tent in the field behind their house (FIL did first cut for silage this week, so grass is OK) and will catch them at some point. I am going to pack sleeping stuff, so if we have an impromtu meal we can all just sleep there!!!!!

That sounds like a beautiful ending to your horrible day, planning tent in a field serenading MIL

We have had a v badtempered tired out kids afternoon, as they had to be dragged to ds2's dropoff (pottery painting party). Ds1 and dd moaned constantly and then they both bumped their heads on a badly landscaped Ocado pillar . Only revived by Mummy's quick thinking and emergency cocacola drinking.
Only now going to bed alas...
Happy bbq S.

sagacious · 12/06/2009 20:32

was meant to be wine / towel choices (cut and pasted so it didn't work)

Star I have a bottle of Bud . Very very rare for me to buy alcohol, glad i did now!

Report
galen · 12/06/2009 21:03

tort oh dear, your day isnt getting any better. A bottle of bud sounds just what you need. Enjoy.

sag LOL wine/towel choices.... I get it now. Was thinking I was obviously very unproper never to have owned a wine towel. Had also conjured up images of smart waiters serving posh bottles of wine to BBQ guests with lovely wine towels draped over their arms!!! LOL Enjoy the BBQ, the wine, and the towels!!

Thanks Galen. One bottle of Bud and my head is fuzzy already. Lightweight!
