Dcs' Sportsday has been cancelled, due to rain. Friday now.
So I can do a bit of curtain making

And all you FLY ladies are Stars

swanriver · 09/06/2009 14:27

Grouchy, initially dh was all for me working in School Library, pleased at professional development etc, but very quickly was cross at all things going by wayside. He didn't really want it to affect him at all
(although I do much less than you volunteer/workwise as far I can see)

However, if you were doing what is a longterm career move you might find more support than you get when you are volunteering, if you explain it to him in words of one syllable.

He sounds quite helpful actually, taking Ed away at weekend at bit, and making exotic dishes! How lovely to be married to a creative cook! Is it just the day to day slog - the lunchboxes and laundry that seem overwhelming? Could he just do a bit of it like bins or lunchbox?

Grouchy, I think I am being unfair to my dh.
I think I myself didn't want to change most of the arrangements, and I liked all the freedom of SAHM setup.

Just wanted to add that in case it has any bearing on your situation.

Painting in girls room...almost finished ( why did I think painting loads of lovely birds and flowers all over their walls would be easy LOL)
General tidying and cleaning!
Cottage pie constructed
playing with unusually cheerful DS2!
Slightly disracted writing my hubpages (great discovery , I can spout on about anything I like LOL) My first hubpage here!

grouchyoscar · 09/06/2009 18:57

hello again

Well, it didn't get any better. A friend of Ed's popped round for 10 mins and Ed decided to show her all his cuddlies by throwing them down the stairs (he has lots of cuddlies btw). Cuddlies were followed by duvets, pillow and blankets !

And Ed would not help pick them up or take them upstairs and the rest of his room was a heap but he wouldn't help clean that either So muggins here spends from 4 to 5:30 hoicking washing baskets of toys upstairs and cleaning the room up. Well the room is tidy and organised now so, mustn't grumble.

I am doing NO MORE today

Thanks for being there for me

TheMadHouse · 09/06/2009 19:43

Groucy Thats ehat the boys did yesterday to make their den, suffice to say I MADE them clean up.

I am super peeved with DS1 - who called me a servant at swimming

I have just drawn (well attempted to) a web with dew drops on the corns (25 of them) and a chocolate cake with 25 candles. DS1 will earn spider monkey from Ben 10 once he fills his and DS2 will earn choc cake (his fav thing) if he fills his. I am nopw moving on to a list with pictures of what they earn them for.

DS1 also gets crosses for bad behaviour and can only cover one cross a day.

How does that sound.

As you can tell I was mighty pissed off with some of the behaviour I have seen from the two of them this week and I will not tolerate it any more!!!! You are my last hope O B wan as Leia would say

Anyway - rice is soaking, curry is cooked, boys are in bed, washer is on.

scattyspice · 09/06/2009 19:53

That sounds a great idea Mad. You will reap the benefits of all your hard work with your boys one day .

Grouchy, that sounds like the last thing you needed today.

TheMadHouse · 09/06/2009 20:12

Scatty I am not complaining and it is the first time I have been truley mortified with DS1 - no idea where it came from.

I am just keen for them to have manners, know right from wrong, grow up to be gentlemen like their daddy, but also have loads of fun with mummy.

They are only small for such a short space of time. I love being with them, I just dont understand how their brains work.

DH tells me this is all normal as does the MIL. It is just hightened with them being so close in age and also too bloody clever for my good!

Prof I only have to threaten to do that and they tidy up. DS2 moaned today that he shouldn't have to keep his room tidy to get pocket money!!

littleboyblue · 09/06/2009 21:11

Evening all.
grouchy hope you're ok.

Been a bit busy today, so not really been around. I had a look at the Fly website this morning when we got up at 5am!!
Done
Morning routine
Evening routine
Exercise class
Changed master bed sheets and ds2's cot
Full hoovr of flat
Tescos (twice)

I am now typing out the recipe for dinner I'm cooking for playgroup tomorrow

I skipped today's mission because I wipe my cupboards and things down as part of my daily clean in there.
I should have defrosted the freezer really. Maybe tomorrow.
What do I do with all the food when I have to turn the fridge-freezer off to defrost? Can I just wrap freezer and fridge food up in a sheet or something to keep them cold?

wendyredkitchenredspots · 09/06/2009 21:18

at Prof - sounds like something I'd do - we are all kindred spirits on here (as Anne of GG would say lol)

My craft today at toddlers - went well
Visitors in afternoon so didn't get much done and ended up frazzled - nice to see people and I'm no good at saying, well, actually I am going out!

Slimming World diet was going ok for me too, had lost 3 lbs last week, but have eaten much cake and cheese last few days, and drank lots at a wedding reception at the weekend. Oops!
am not going to a group so have no public humiliation, though.

See you all tomorrow, when I hope Grouchy and Tort are feeling brighter!
