You know those long-sleeved t-shirts that look like a t-shirt and long top layered....

...like the ones Next seem to do for little boys.....?
Has anyone tried cutting off the "long sleeve" bit to make a t-shirt?
DS has got loads and now summer's approaching I was wondering if it would be a practical idea.
Anyone tried it or have hints/tips?

Sounds fairly striaght forward to me - especilly as the t-shirt sleeve bit will be hemed already...

toodles · 23/05/2009 09:09

Yes I've done this. It looks fine because the upper part is already hemmed.

Done!
Now does anyone know what I can do with a dozen pairs of sleeve cut-offs?

skulks back to kids' wardrobes to see if there are any other items of winter clothing she can butcher convert

That is a fantastic idea. I have never thought of that.

Oh good idea!

I've done it too.

My mum told me off for "ruining a perfectly good pair of jeans" when I turned DS's jeans into shorts.

Apparently he has lots of shorts (pure guesswork - she assumes I have been passed on some from friends) and they could have been passed on to some random stranger on freecycle

This is the child who spends most of his time playing in dirt and puddles, oddly enough, I like him having oodles of shorts. Does it not make more sense that I get more use out of his clothes??
