Have just booked DLP for the summer (following profs lead ) Have wanted to take the DC fo SOOO long....and MIL has offered to pay for a holiday for us this year ( as we didnt all get to go to BIL's wedding in Barbados....complicated story....) anyway we were looking at centreparks , but have now found a deal at DLP for round about same price (well will be abit more with travel...)
Sooo excited...cant wait to see the DC's faces! We havent even had a holiday at all for the last 3 years, other than a couple of nights camping or going to MIL's so it will be FAB. So Kind of MIL.....very excited!!!!

BBL ladies

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 14:15

lol galen Thought you were bouncing up and down at my success with the filing for a minute

How exciting! When are you going?

Starbear · 22/05/2009 14:36

Shopping done
Now for the garden with Ds, after a cup of tea. Might do some more tomorrow so I really help him with his planting.
dylsmum1998 What have you been studying? & How long have you been studying?
Might start in September when DS starts school

galen · 22/05/2009 14:38

LOL gib well obviously your filing success is equaly (if not more) exciting, so will bounce a bit more just for you!!We're going 17th Aug (tied to school hols sadly, were even when we homedded - the joys of being married to a teacher!)

But Bum , bum and double bum...turns out the 3 children I thought had passports dont as they expired last year....so will need 6 and they're £46 each
Off to search house for stuff to ebay/carboot........

swanriver · 22/05/2009 14:53

Irish ones are a bit cheaper if your dh is of Irish birth...or has an Irish passport himself.
Think it is £28 each for a 3 year passport and even cheaper for under 3 years. I've just got my kids theirs after mucho confusion.

Starbear · 22/05/2009 14:56

galen tell me about it married to a teacher you always pay top dollar for holidays 6 Passports not only the money back the forms and photos Good luck

swanriver · 22/05/2009 15:04

Check on Irish Embassy passport/visa website. It says £14 for three and under years, (3 year duration) and £24 for 3-17 years (5 year duration). And Montpelier House does answer phone generally if you have enquiries.
What you need is a longform birth cert for each child
Proof of parent being Irish (long form birth cert or Irish passport)
Signed witnessed declarations from both parents that you want them to be Irish citizens (maybe not...hmm)
Signed witnessed photos that tally with application form witness.
Marriage certificate proving you are married to your dh. Not photocopy.
Takes about 3 weeks max.

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 15:04

lol galen Pants about the passports though.

Finished! I'm finished the filing!!!!! So happy

Off to clear the linen cupboard and do a clear out - on a roll now!

swanriver · 22/05/2009 15:07

My mum always had a English passport and my Dad an Irish one, and we all had Irish, but it didn't really cause any problems travelwise.

swanriver · 22/05/2009 15:12

Well done Gibbberish.
I've swept stairs and hoovered
found tomorrow's music is off due to halfterm so don't have to worry about dd's appalling practising
trying to just stay calm calm calm
oh and posted some paperwork VERY GOOD,
and also some dolls' clothes to my cousin.

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 15:33

You are getting on too swan Tres bien!

Laundry cupboard done. Another black bin bag to go to recycling.

Mightily pleased. House becoming very organised. All I now have to do now is file housework paperwork (groan), tidy and declutter under the stairs and the same with the little ones room. May have time to tackle them over the weekend.

Off to tip/recycling plant with all the stuff have cleared out. bbl x

galen · 22/05/2009 16:11

Quick hello all,
swan good idea about passports...hadnt thought of that, will check it out later. DH is Irish with Irish passport...should be manageable.....may be back with more Q's later! Thanks
gib yay for filing....bounces some more for you!!

littleboyblue · 22/05/2009 16:13

swan Goodluck with the food, I gave up shopping for a whole week because I either eat it all in a couple of days or end up throwing most of it away. I do it now day to day. How sad and depressing is that......
scatty Is it really for retired old ladies? Oh. I'm being really lazy then! hahaha. I'm only able to do anything at all because the prozac kicked in

Been at playgroup all day. I stayed after baby play and helped them pack the room away for half term. The nursery use it and don't like anything being left out.
It's our local surestart centre we go to, they have loads on there and today asked if I wanted to work their creche(sp?) nd get an NVQ and after that a job placement. Def interested, I need to do something.
Been shopping and we have steak and new potatoes for dinner, so better get a start on that in a min. Done very little round the house today, but will make up for it by doing the ironing after the boys have gone to bed.

Evening all

Day is getting better - friend fed boys

They are currently having daddy cuddles, after their bath and helped me plant some more stuff in the garden.

Once they are in bed I may go back out, but as it is date night I may not

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 19:17

lol prof

lbl the job sounds great! Would you start after the summer hols?

Had a lovely afternoon. Crashed out for an hour or so in the sun with a good book and some diet cola. dd3 and dd4 played in the mud and built a waterfall and moat around a bush Ended up extremely mucky and soaked but enjoyed themselves. dd1 and dd2 found loads of old photos that I had had forgotten stored under my bed so spent all afternoon decorating their room with them.

And decided am not cooking so waiting for a chinese to be delivered for girls then dh and I are going out for a meal later

Hope you all have a lovely evening. xx

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 19:17

hehe mad. Can't you go out THEN have 'date night' ??

littleboyblue · 22/05/2009 21:47

Gib yeah, I have to fill in one of those forms for a background check and then they'll let me have a bash at the creche.

I've been really bad today and still haven't done that ironong. The pile gets a bit bigger every day and I really can't be bothered! Because I have to wait til ds1 goes to bed, or else it just isn't safe.
My kitchen is clean though, and my sink is still shiny, so that's something

Starbear · 22/05/2009 22:11

littleboyblue Ironing was invented when the rich wore grand clothes that couldn't be washed well and bugs got into the seams. The iron killed them with heat. Sooo in this day and age there really is no need to iron I saw it on discovery channel (or was it a dream!!!)
Right DH has gone out with mates to watch Rugby >>>must get into this date night stuff.
Right, I did go out into the garden so alot of it has been done. More to do during the weekend.
Now before bed must:-
tidy kitchen
Text mates re picnic
Text mate re gymnastics
make a list for the weekend.
return library books Done
Ds new shoes carry over
blank pages for Filofaxcarry over
New holder for work.Done
Gardening clogs carry over
Food shopping Done
PM Put plants in ground Almost
Ds's teaDone

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 22:17

Oh that's good to know star When anyone comments on the kids crumpled clothes I'll be sure and explain now!

lbl you are taking babysteps remember. You will only wear yourself out trying to do it all at first. By doing the missions you gradually get the whole house organised and then it becomes easier keeping on top of it. You've made a brilliant start.

swanriver · 22/05/2009 22:26

That is v. interesting Starbear, about ironing
I did some today too, rats.

Looking forward to a blissfully uneventful day tomorrow.

Job sounds great LBB.

Starbear · 22/05/2009 22:28

gibbberish If I keep repeating it on various threads, It will become fact and added to the history books. Then we can throw away the iron as it would be so 20th Century

littleboyblue · 22/05/2009 22:30

star I will have to remember that about the ironing! That is my new favourite piece of information
gib you are right. I'm getting ahead of myslef, but excited at the thought of having some sort of order again!

gibbberish · 22/05/2009 22:36

rofl star Is a good mission to have! All womankind will hail you as a hero!

lbl you'll definitely get there. Don't you have a little one too? My youngest is 8 so is a lot easier for me now. Much more difficult with teeny ones to take care of.

littleboyblue · 22/05/2009 22:44

I have a 21 month old and a 15 week old, so everything's a challenge at the moment!
After ds2 was born, I didn't give myself enough time to adjust and kind of tried to stay 100% on top of everything which ended up in me not knowing if I was coming or going, feeling exhausted all the time, feeling guilty because I couldn't keep up with life, the housework, play times, and so on, which resulted in me feeling like the worst mum ever, then the PND kicked in which isn't nice, but since I realised I am my own worst enemy and that it's not the end of the world if I don't hoover every week things have got a bit easier and I now (thanks to the prozac) feel that I'm ready to find my way again iyswim.
Was that TMI?
