How do I get crayon off the wall? I'm not sure whether it's wax or oil pastel crayon.

DS is currently scrubbing with a baby wipe while throwing a mega-strop, but neither the wipe nor the strop seem to be shifting it at all.

Thanks.

wd40?

mrsmaidamess · 10/05/2009 13:43

Tumble dryer sheets.

bran · 10/05/2009 13:44

Would WD40 stain white paint? (I know, it was asking for trouble to use white paint with children in the house. )

jlf magic microfibre sponges, they get everything off. Lakeland do similar.

bubblagirl · 10/05/2009 13:48

iw as told to hair dry it then wipe with cloth its supposed to soften apparently but have never had to try

SadieSunshine · 10/05/2009 14:03

When I used it on my (beige paintwork) it initially looked greasy but faded after a couple of wipes.

I was amazed by the result.

bran · 10/05/2009 14:03

I do have a microfibre sponge somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I have a look for it.

No tumble dryer here, so no sheets unfortunately. I also don't have a hair dryer as I never use one.

DS is now swearing that he will never put crayon on the wall again if only we'll let him stop scrubbing. So that's good.

I used a rubber.

bran · 10/05/2009 14:10

Hurrah! The microfibre sponge is doing the trick. DS is so amazed that the crayon is actually coming off he has stopped whinging (for the first time all day ). Truly a miracle.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

LOL at DS being the whingey wiper (I read it as DH first time round)

How is the expanded family coming along, bran?

bran · 10/05/2009 14:52

I'm very nearly meeting the challenge, thanks Ponders. DD has settled in very well but DS has been a bit difficult. Mostly attention seeking bad behaviour like crayonning on the wall. I spend quite a lot of time supervising clean up operations, especially of wee.

On the whole though the family are doing very well, and are unusually gorgeous and cherubic (well, not me obviously).

Yay bran, they are a lifesaver!

They don't work for permanent markers though, argh.

Ponders · 10/05/2009 18:03

Oh, that's lovely to hear

(& I'm sure you are gorgeous & cherubic too )
