Grouchy brings tea and biscuits in for Galen and Prof

1 good thing G, though you may feel the house is a tip you know you can easily get it back by tomorrow

Everything is ready for morning. Back to work and letters to send

Laters ladies

I am also busy doing trhe hair stroking and the soothing "Oh dont worry dear, tomorrow is another day" galen things will get better. My MIL is the same with different brands of medcication and can not cope with the generic brand and has to have the real thing.

I too love the fact that we are all here for each other.

I can match you day galen, dont think I can beat it though.

DS's have been little bloody shits - fighting, being obstinate, being distructive, being awful, checky, back chatting, rude to everyone in fact. We took them out for a walk to try and excerise it out of them. Only to get home and they make "winter" when I wasnt looking. Washing powder everywhere. Would have been funny if they went so nauty before and after. I resulting to shutting them in their bedrooms holding on to a handle with each hand.

DH tried to clean it up, but we swopped.

They have just been allowed down for a cuddle and drink - as I will not let them go to sleep on a strop.

Hello.
We have had a lovely day today (sorry to those who haven't). Weather was cloudy but we spent the day in Weymouth! Had about an hour on the beach. Had chips and ice creams. Watched the kites flyig at the kite festival on the beach and spent far too much money trying to grab teddies out of the arcade machines! Managed to get 2! DD2 was very upset she didn't get one. Will have to go again soon!!!

Back to normal tomorrow.
Plus have a extra lunch box to make. DS2 doesn't want school meals anymore.

galen · 04/05/2009 20:07

prof and mad thanks for soothing hair stroking!
grouchy thanks for tea and biscuits!
Seems to have done the trick, feeling more positive!
Have done a quick blitz of house and not as bad as I feared (as grouchy predicted!)
And focusing on positives good idea prof I DID:
do all morning routine
Several loads of washing
made casserole (not eaten but will have tomorrow!)
walked away when I got stressed more than once to avoid yelling at DC - good for me!

mad I did laugh at the "winter" incident, but am sure it was far from amusing at the time. So sorry your day has been rough too. Heres hoping we get off on a better foot tomorrow.
And yes it is odd about the AD's ...think I will ring GP tomorrow

Hope everyone has a peaceful evening, and we all start bright and fresh tomorrow

Hi. We had a lovely day, too. My list was all done, and we spent the afternoon at a WW2 re-enactment thing with a spitfire display (apparently flown by a 90 yr old woman!)and lots of long walks.
I was sure ds would flake out as soon as I put him to bed, but he is still wide awake and trashing his room

Sorry for those who've had less good days, but the cake/tea/hair stroking seems to have calmed down the worst of it now, I hope

Jas · 04/05/2009 21:20

I knew 90 sounded a bit far fetched....I've looked it up and she is probably 50-something! Still pretty impressive though

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 21:21

I have just had to wash half of weymouths sand down my bath plug hole before running my bath lol!

swanriver · 04/05/2009 22:19

We've had a smiley outdoorsy day with cafe and bikes. Ds1 returned from 3 days Cub camp after lunch delighted with himself, particularily as he had been shooting rifles designed for 11 year olds thought they would be doing woodcraft...He said they got up every morning at 6.00am so as not to miss breakfast, which was at 8.00am??Very long queues?

Sounds like my typical day with kids when dh away Galen...esp the Macdonalds and car.

Dd has been screaming again today TMH, but dh has tried a new trick of putting her in her room and completely ignoring her, rather than telling her how naughty she is to kick him. It worked, she emerged 15 mins later smiling and she managed to get through from 2-8 without further meltdowns. Thank heaven.

Jas Scatty and Tortoise, you've had lovely days.

Laura, ditto sentimental attachment to hotspots, a sort of fear that a new pile will be even worse, and all the layers will get confused.

Dh hs the answer. He leaves his for five years, and then throws the whole lot away He never seems to lose anything oddly enough.

Simply · 04/05/2009 22:28

Hello again to all.

No ironing done this evening as I invited a neighbour whose wife is away to come and join dd and I for tea with his two dds and he was very grateful for the invite. It went fine except for when I offered his dd2 a stem ginger biscuit (she only took a tiny bit) before she left and her mouth felt really hot as a result! Ooops! Then I paid back the favour of the lift ds was given earlier by me fetching them this evening. I did think this morning that I'd have had an easier day today if I'd been in work and it carried on that way all day!

Done:
took dd and friend to sports tournament and stayed there for about 6 hours
walked the dog
fetched ds and friend from bus (their team lost btw)
fed dog and cat
did some laundry and some kitchen stuff
posted one card
got money ready for ds' music exam
lit the fire and neglected it so it went out a bit sooner than intended

I'm working tomorrow so I'd best get to bed. I don't think I have any work trousers clean and ironed so I might have to dig out a skirt! [shock!] [horror!]
