Cleaner who charges per job rather than per hour?

Have just had a reply to a web ad from a cleaner who (I think) works for herself. She said a 4-bed house usually costs 50 quid per visit. I know I need her to come round so I can meet her we can discuss what she will do for that, but does that sound reasonable? I am in Suffolk if that helps.

My sister runs her own cleaning business and she charges £10 an hour. My house is a two-bed and she's there for two hours.

Not sure it would take five hours to clean a four-bed but I guess it depends on how much she does - I'd expect everything to be spotless for that amount including skirting boards, tops or wardrobes and under everything.

Thats how i was told to charge, by the job, rather than the hour. It is because i used to work for a cleaning company and that is how they charge, maybe she used to work for one too? You could ask her about that because if she did she was probably taught a very strict regime of cleaning.

I personally prefer to charge by the job. Although customers, i think, don't seem comfortable with this......

I also take all my own cleaning equipment, hoover, mop and bucket etc., so i feel my slightly higher price is fair as it includes all products etc.,

Also, when at the cleaning company, if we did a monthly clean, or even a two weekly clean it was more expensive than a weekly clean as it was dirtier and if you are in a house once a week it is easier to get on top of things.
