Sorry to invade your thread! Have been reading your posts and wondered if i could join in? still not sure exactly what fky lady is (am looking at the site though).

It's okay if you don't accept newbies, looks like these threads have been doing on for a long time!! I don't want to invade.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 29/04/2009 16:13

ooh newbies are ALWAYS welcome
hi L&D'sMummy
I am not here all the time but this is a really loevly friendly thread of ladies trying to get our homes sorted, but mostly chatting about life around that

TheMadHouse · 29/04/2009 17:00

I just want to Echo Greyskull Newbies are more than welcome anytime.

FLY is a method for keepiong your home in some semblance of order - or it helps

You should start at the babysteps and it helps you build up a routine for a daily basis and then she has weekly deep cleans or certian areas adn a daily mission.

This is supposed to prevent the need for spring cleans and also means that you dont worry about letting people in to your home.

Loads of us just post for a non-judgemetal chat too

So come on in the water is warm

TheMadHouse · 29/04/2009 17:08

Boys are freezing, as they refused to come in

Jackets are in the oven, so I am going to bath them to get them warm and then feed them!!!

Hiya ehm sorry to hear about house move

EHM · 29/04/2009 17:50

saga at least it made me empty our loft, de clutter the hidden clutter which was long over due!

sagacious · 29/04/2009 18:03

I dread moving (dh is a hoarder and has put a ton of crap useful stuff up in the loft.

gibbberish · 29/04/2009 18:13

Hi l&dsmummy It's lovely here and you are more than welcome to join!

saga your wardrobe must look great now after the overhaul! That's on my 'to do' list...

Half way through the dance lessons - just got dd3 to collect and that, hopefully, is that! Except dd1 has been hinting that she wants a lift home tonight from her friend's, so looks like I may be making another journey later on I feel just like a taxi service most days.

Bought some lovely red towels for the downstairs bathroom Have been looking EVERYWHERE for a nice matching floor lamp/table lamp/pendant set for the living room. Can't see anything I fancy. Actually I have seen quite a lot I fancy but it is waaay out of my price range. Typical

TheMadHouse · 29/04/2009 18:27

Sag When I get my prostectic that is my aim - to cull and sort my warbrobe to match my new chest. At the moment I dont have one

I have listed 22 items on e-bay
Bathed the boys
PJ's us all
Fed the cat
Changed his litter
Fed all the rest of the family

I am hoping for another early night tonight, it has made me much more tolerant of the goings on.

Greyskull Your boys are almost a cute as mine . They are going to be real lookers, all dark, handsome and brooding.

Does anyine have Wendy's new address?

Hi all - and hello L&D's mummy I'm a newbie too!
Had a fab day yesterday - didn't quite follow my list but somehow ended up with a very respectable looking house and dinner cooking by the time dp came home - this is virutally unheard of in my house, as I'm always behind and in chaos!!
Today we've been out for nearly all the day and I'd left things to be done this late afternoon but had unexpected visitors so nothing has been done and I'm missing an onion so can't start dinner and I'm feeling deflated with a Summer cold consuming me and making me feel very slow..... oh the pain of self pity!
Still, you can't win them all. The house was at least reasonably respectable for visitors which again is unheard of - except I had nothing to give them 'cos I hadn't been shopping!
I think I need to just concentrate on getting the babysteps completed and like clockwork so I don't run ahead of myself and then feel a failure.
Sorry, this is such a boring post and very anal. I can see me writing a few of these over the coming weeks as i try to start Flying!! Perhpas then, I'll lighten up and chat about life, the universe and everything. That's if you haven't kicked me off by then.

sagacious · 29/04/2009 19:28

laura I wouldn't worry.. they haven't kicked me off yet....

Have just reached the end of the laundry basket AND put all the hangers and assorted crap in proper places

Am feeling very smug chipper

Have a good evening all

TheMadHouse · 29/04/2009 19:41

Laura That is the whole thing with fly - you need to be able to stop and start when you can. We are not all perfect by any means.

We are also here for all the moans too. Hey look to the positives, it was only one onion you were missing!!!

Boys are in bed - sort of DS2 is kicking off
I am going to relax now with DH

OP posts:
gibbberish · 29/04/2009 20:21

laura lol at you having a moan. Your post read like most of mine tbh!

Btw, don't beat yourself up about not having an onion - I was without a whole shop today! Booked Asda delivery and waited in all morning for it, only to discover had booked it for tomorrow by mistake

Well, my house was looking LOVELY today - until dh came in that is. Is expecting a huge delivery tomorrow (he has a business selling water purification products) and has had to clear out our garage to fit it all in.

Guess where all the stuff from the garage has been put? Yep, in my lovely, tidy house. Harumph. He promises he will move it all tomorrow...

The sooner he gets a warehouse the better cos I sure as hell don't like living in one!

livvyanddaisymummy · 29/04/2009 20:29

thanks for the welcome ladies. Tomorrow i am going to get going!

Tortoise · 29/04/2009 20:55

Welcome L&DsMummy.
I am a terrible FLYer! And just pop in now and then to say hello. Or to force myself to get off my bum and tidy up!!

swanriver · 29/04/2009 22:39

Hello everyone, had a very busy day.
Kerbside recycling
Decluttered a lot of papers in kitchen
Hoovered whole house
Cleaned out my handbag
Cleaned out art drawers
Mopped bathroom floors
scrubbed loos
Put all the margarine tubs, and plastic containers in one place hope SOME of the lids match the boxes

Did routines as well
Went to work, and read My Naughty Little Sister which was all about washday to the 4-5 year olds, no mention of tumble dryers or even washingmachines in 1960's.

Did homework, well not quite finished, x 3
Helped at Beavers - luckily NO DODGEBALL
Picked up dd from Brownies
read her some Horrid Henry
ate my quiche with dh (the joy of having something ready on Wednesday night!- which is usually a total muddle)

Have a good day tomorrow Laura, and you too Tortoise, and enjoy planning bear party! They do love just playing all the old games too, they don't need lots of prizes! It is fun for them just to dress up and be together!

EHM, glad you don't have to worry about cats for a bit. Would you stay in your house happily if it wasn't for the school problem? Perhaps by the end of this year, there will be a bit more activity in the market and it will be easier to sell and find somewhere.

Wolfcub, hope you are managing with the ankle, and have taken lots of arnica tablets.

Tortoise · 29/04/2009 22:47

Thanks Swan. She is very excited that they will come tomorrow! i am thinking pass the parcel so far and hoping for sunshine so they can have a teddy bears picnic outside!

Been trying to google teddy bear cakes but not come up with anything yet.

Oh and DD2 has wet her bed again. She fell out of bed and when i went up i found a big wet patch. More sheets to wash tomorrow. At least the duvet isn't wet this time.
