It all looks/smells so filthy-should I just chuck the whole lot out? I don't know what to do!!

I would or get DH to sort it out!

HaventSleptForAYear · 22/04/2009 20:17

I had this 2 days ago...

Am not a chucker-awayer so have rinsed off everything, then soaked all the toys in diluted bleach and half-filled the bath with similar.

It smells v. bleachy in the bathroom tonight.

(am a non-bleach user too usually!)

Get your rubber gloves out!

sagacious · 22/04/2009 20:18

I would chuck

(actually I would hurl)

And hope whoever the poor soul thats done it is better soon

poopscoop · 22/04/2009 20:18

if not cheapo toys rinse off with the shower attachment, then steralise if plastic.

I would be inclined to tthrow them out though

Pawslikepaddington · 22/04/2009 20:18

Eeeew this is so so so so gross, but thank you for letting me know what to do as they are all really good toys! WIll put my heavy duties on for this one!!

crikey do you have a handy shower attachment?

rinse it all down, wash with hot water & detergent, rinse again then bleach like a mad woman

LoveMyGirls · 22/04/2009 20:19

I'd bin them if theyre the ones with holes in but if solid I would put them in milton or I'd spray with dettol

nickytwotimes · 22/04/2009 20:19

I'd chuck the lot personally, then rinse the bath with bleachy solution.

Claire2301 · 22/04/2009 20:19

Do you have a shower? If so could you shower as much off as possible?

thisisyesterday · 22/04/2009 20:20

just clean it all. it's already in the bath lol

do you have a shower over your bath? if so just rinse it all off one by one, clean the bath out and then chuck everything back in for a proper clean

sagacious · 22/04/2009 20:20

that done it

Oh FGS

(I am a dyed in the wool hippy/recyclist.. but I draw the line at squitty poo)

yappybluedog · 22/04/2009 20:20

once you've cleaned it all, you could bung the toys in the machine foe a hot wash

Pawslikepaddington · 22/04/2009 20:21

Really worried that I'm going to get kicked off my course as I need to go in tomorrow, and can't now as dd has had three bouts of it in under an hour-dammit!!! Are other people's children (and therefore parents too) off at least twice a term with sickness/diahorrea? Or do people just send them in anyway, go to work and hope for the best? No one else seems to have this problem, so I am getting into trouble!!

Oh god off I go-am meant to be going out to dinner at 9 too on first brand new boyfriend date-boak!

yappybluedog · 22/04/2009 20:23

most schools have a policy of children being absent for at least 24hrs after symptoms have gone

yappybluedog · 22/04/2009 20:24

oh, get the new bf to sort it, that'll be an ice-breaker

Right, have cleaned WHOLE bathroom in diluted bleach solution, and am currently soaking bath + toys. Smell is MUCH better, dd is asleep, babysitter and date on their way in ten mins. Now, do I tell him about it or not-he he!

Don't worry, I always keep her off, as she always looks so wretched, but I just don't get how school children can have 100% attendance-dd picks up a bug every 4 weeks on average!

yappybluedog · 22/04/2009 20:52

aw, bless her, hope she's feeling better soon
