Steam generator iron problems.......

......I bought a Hinari one in the sale in October, i know it isn't a 'top' of the range one. I have been really happy with it but all of a sudden it has stopped steaming!

I can only now iron without steam which isn't much good!

I can't even do the self steam as it doesn't steam for that either.

Anyone had this problem??

I have a Morphy Richards Power Steam Elite generator iron and having problems with it. The descaling light comes on as soon as it is plugged in and won't go off and the iron won't work. Can anyone help please?

I had one of these for 3 years and it did this even though I had descaled it regularly. I rung up the Morphy Richards helpline and I think you have to reset it by pressing and holding the middle on/off button for about 20 seconds. If this doesn't work - give them a call. I have just bought a new one because the old one flooded and sounded like a steam train, then tripped my electrics and wouldn't steam. I am only going to use descaled water in the new one to hopefully prolong its life

You may have faulty PCB board or only water level sensor. You did not mention what light comes on, water or if need to be descaled.

Hello Bovario, are you living in Enfield? I am trying to remove the calc clean rising cap to rinse and cleaning the tank from my Philips Iron Generator GC7300 but is too hard to opening, maybe its block. Have you got any idea what could be or how to open please ? could be block?

A houseguest continued to use my Bosch steam generator iron but did not top up the water in the reservoir. Now, when I switch it on, it no longer makes the noise indicating steam is being built up within the iron. The red light indicating no water stayed on even though the reservoir is full. Can this be repaired?

hi i used to have a steam generator that had a button under the handle that you slide instead of continuously pressing to get steam boost, does anyone know if there are anymore available as i have trigger finger and it sticks when i have to hold the button in

If you use a dehumidifier to dry your clothes and store the iron in the same place, the dehumidifier might drying out the filters, I have a morphy Richards , now I put the filters in a plastic zippo bag after use , seems to be doing the trick , also water from the dehumidifier is used in the iron , better then tap water

I have a Morphy Richard's 332000 steam generator - had exactly the same problem reported several times above - tank is full but indicator light says it needs filling, and no steam generated. I called MR support line who suggested emptying the tank, turning it upside down and giving it a bit of shake, then re-filling and trying again - it worked. There is a small valve in the tank that determines if the tank has water in it or not and it can get stuck if you don't use it for a while (like I did). A quick shake frees it up, so an easy fix....hope this helps others.

I have a Philips PerfectCare Elite and it is taking about 20 mins to produce steam although the soleplate is getting hot straight away. It is making the noise as though it is going to work but then a bit of steam comes out of the side of the base. It is now making a horrendous noise. Any ideas?

Further to my last post regarding my Philips PerfectCare Elite it has also started making a loud clicking sound in the base when I press the steam button!

Hi. Did you get anywhere with you Philips Perfectcare elite? I wonder if your soleplate was clogged? Mine seems to be partially clogged and I can’t seem to clear it even by following the de-scaling instructions for the tank and the soleplate.

I’m having trouble with my Morhpy Richard’s jet steam plus which I’ve had since Oct 2019 so still quite new.. like an idiot I’ve been using tap water and have now got brown lime scale water leaking over my ironing.. spoke to the help line and they said flush it through with distilled water which I’ve done a couple of times.. But still got water leaking out along with steam.. it’s stressing me out as I iron for people and it’s piling up 😱

Hi. I have only just seen this!! After lots of perserverence it seemed to work but now almost a year later I am having the same problem. I think it is lack of use because of lockdown! But I really can't think how I eventually got it working before and could do with knowing what to do
