Where do you keep school uniforms?

With the rest of their clothes, or separate? I'm not sure what to do with my dcs' uniforms - if I put school shirts with other shirts, school trousers with other trousers, etc, I think it will all get lost or scrunched up.

Oh what difficult complex decisions!

Hanging on the back of their bedroom doors. The kids only have drawers - not hanging space other than on the back of their doors.

on hangers on the wardrobe door knob for easy access in the morning
the rest of it is kept in the wardrobe which mut not be touched

In wardrobe. Dresses, skirts and trousers are hung up, polo shirts and cardigans on their own shelf. Other clothes on seperate shelves/hanging up, so no muddling. DS hasn't got uniform yet.

TBCoalman · 18/04/2009 19:36

Right hand side of the wardrobe. Other stuff on the left. A coat inbetween.

Might move it to the back of the door like MuffinBaker. If I can be bothered.

scienceteacher · 18/04/2009 19:36

Our uniforms are in dry cleaner bags at the moment.

They only have one set of uniforms each, so they are either wearing it, it is in the wash, or somewhere on the floor of their bedrooms.

MollieO · 18/04/2009 19:37

Shirts and shorts hung up in wardrobe. Sweatshirts, polo shirts and socks in one drawer, games kit in another.

mogs0 · 18/04/2009 19:45

Ds' normal clothes are in his chest of drawers and his uniform is in a hanging shelf thing in his wardrobe.

ours are scrunched up in their cupboards

bellavita · 18/04/2009 19:52

My DS's uniforms are to the left in their wardrobes.

Games kits are washed/ironed and put back in their games bags straight away.

onepieceofcremeegg · 18/04/2009 19:53

Pinafore dresses and cardigans in the same wardrobe as the other clothes, but kind of all hung together, i.e. not all mixed up. Polo shirts folded in the drawer.

Also I was quite restricted in what I bought, so there isn't loads. 4 polo shirts, 1 skirt, 2 pinafores and 3 cardigans. 3 summer dresses for the Summer. I wash midweek if necessary, or she wears items for 2-3 days if possible.

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 18/04/2009 19:57

In the wardrobe. On hangers, but on the right hand side of their wardrobe. So they know left-hand side is casual clothes, right hand side is school uniform (and ds's Cubs uniform is on the right hand side too)

Flamesparrow · 18/04/2009 19:58

scattered round house with rest of mess...

Actually no, I lie. Normally hung up on picture rail in dining room.

purepurple · 18/04/2009 20:01

Either in the wash, in the ironing pile, on DD, on the floor of DD's room(could be clean, and waiting to be worn or could be dirty waiting to be washed)

random · 18/04/2009 20:01

usually in a pile on ds[16] bedroom floor ...only got a couple more months left to wear the bloody thing before he leaves school ...cant wait to get rid

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 18/04/2009 20:04

right hand side of wardrobe or in the ironing mountain

LoneStranger · 18/04/2009 20:04

All uniforms on the right hand-side of the wardrobe (Stagecoach, rainbows, swimming, PE kit) and full school uniform excluding underwear) hung on one hanger for each day. I take relevant hanger(s) out as required for the next day. With exception of cargigans, DD wears school uniform for one day only.

oneplusone · 18/04/2009 20:12

ALL school uniform is in it's own drawer seperate from all other stuff. DD has a habit of changing clothes about 5 times a day and I don't mind if she muddles up all her other clothes but I just feel happier knowing her uniform is there ready for Monday morning.

muppetgirl · 18/04/2009 20:14

ds 1 has the bottom of his chest of drawers as a uniform drawer. He has his bedside cabinte with 3 drawers for socks, vests and pants. This means at 5 he can get his socks, vests and pants and trousers, top and jumper all by himself and get dressed by himself.

ramonaquimby · 18/04/2009 20:17

we have a drawer for school tights, socks, polo tops, cardigans etc. skirts/pinafores are hung up

Gorionine · 18/04/2009 20:18

Their "normal" clothes are on shelves and the school uniforms on coat hangers in a hanging wardrobe for the same reason as oneplusone! They change everyday as well (it would be impossible, especially for the boys to go twice in the same one. I spend a fortune on soda cristals!)

Houseofpants · 18/04/2009 21:44

Atm hung up in wardrobe.Pe kit's on shelf in laundry room....but this time next week probably a weeks worth scrumpled on bedroom floors!

Legacy · 18/04/2009 21:49

Each child has a Uniform Drawer for jumpers,PE kit/ Games Kit/ Rugby shirts/ Beavers/Cubs and school shorts.

Shirts and trousers hung up straight from tumble drier on left hand side of wardrobe.

PE/Games bags are restocked every weekend and hung on bpeg in understairs cupboard ready for Monday (I tend to have 2 of everything so there isn't a mad washing turnaround..)

Spare summer/winter uniform items (poncey private school duffle coats etc) are cleaned and kept in suit covers in the spare room wardrobe until next season.

swanriver · 18/04/2009 22:36

Dedicated uniform drawers for each child (3 dcs). Everything clean is thrown in, but at least there is only one place to to look for clean clothes, and dcs can look themselves. School socks in separate compartment (drawer divider) in sock pants drawer for each child. I leave any uniform which is still wearable after a day, out on chest of drawers for following day, and they take clean uniform from drawer to make up the outfit. We don't hang anything up, but we have multiple shirts, trousers etc for each child.
