If you hang your washing up (one load) on the line at 9 am how many do you get dry a day? Just that one or one more? Garden is south facing with a bit of wind coming through as well.

Make them do their own!! I'm sure then they'll change undies twice a week!

We have a big rotary line so 3 loads from my 9kg washing machine will fit on it at once. If I get organised then I could get 5 loads dry in a day but more usually 2 or 3.

Psycho I'm with you on the undies, nothing more soul destroying than pegging out socks!

6 loads wow i am !!! my washing machine has about had it though im sure its gonna take off out the kitchen window in a minute !

That is very true about dishwashers, the new ones do use less water and power than washing by hand.

I have a 45m rotary line and a 6kg washing machine.

On a good day - hot with a breeze, I can get 4 loads dry. That's assuming I can get the first load out at (or before) 8am.

psychomum5 · 15/04/2009 13:50

you would think me making them sort out the undies pile would help wouldn;t ya, but no....they still carry on changing lots.

at least they are clean I guess. DS1 has to be told to change his undies, and I swear half the time his socks walk themselves to the washing basket they are that stiff from constant wear .

hey ho.......off to peg out yet more washing.

oh, and bring the first lot in

I hang everything out. I know some people are a bit prissy about their pants etc hanging out for all to see but I couldn't care less.

psychomum5 · 15/04/2009 13:53

figment, I could not care less about what people see when they look at my wahsing.........but the problem would be (for me) is that there would be no room for anything else if I hung out knickers, pants and socks!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 14:24

i have one of those things with loads of pegs on for underwear, dont know what its called lol!! i hang out all my underwear even the sexy big maternity knickers

fromheretowhere · 15/04/2009 14:34

I hang everything out but my garden is totally enclosed and not overlooked so no one sees it! And my dishwasher is pretty new so I maintain my guilt free status!

Dry breezy day I have got 4 loads dry before now but I usually only do one or two a day. In winter it still goes out unless it is tipping down and then gets finished off on airer or on radiators if I am really desperate. I have a few multipeg hangers, great for nappy boosters and wipes too

fromheretowhere · 15/04/2009 16:21

well I was really pleased with myself taking load 1 in and getting ready to put load 2 out but unbeknownst to me someone must have pushed the stop button last night on the washing machine and the load in there wasnt finished so I shall have to wait til tomorrow. Am counting the minutes til I can hang the washing up in sunshine again!

i have 2 long lines and can fit 2 loads on at a time

i could theoretically get 4 loads dry in a day, though i would never normally do more than 2 loads in a day

id its a dry night i put the washing out in the evening before.... i came down yesturday at 10am and it was already bone dry!

even in the winter, so long as it isnt actually raining i could get 2 loads mostly dry and finish off over night in the airing copboard
