I think one of these may be the answer to my laundry drying problem, but know nothing about them nor have I used them before.
Any good?
Do the clothes have enough room to blow?
Any other tips?

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean rotary washing lines? Not as good as straight line ones IME. What about getting one of those old fashioned double lines with one much higher on a pole with a pulley thing?

randomrabbit · 03/04/2009 21:45

IMO the clothes on the inside take longer to dry ..but I've used one before and it was ok

I think things take a bit longer to dry, but if space is at a premium then they're great

I got this one from here www.housemakers.co.uk/epages/Housemakers.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Housemakers/Products/310645&Par entID=4826 and am very happy with it. Plenty of line space but doesn't take up acres of garden. Am a bit obsessed with putting towels out there now....

They're great in the summer on hot days - everything dries then, but in the spring and autumn then the inside things don't dry as well as on a straight line one.

I've always found rotary ones better than straight line ones, especially in terms of space, even 2 single straight lines often isn't enough if you've done a huge load of washing.

No problem with them not blowing, although I do often leave a "line" in between each row of washing just to be on the safe side.

I hung a load out this afternoon about 4.30 brought it in at 7.30 and it was mostly dry - except for a thick top of DS1's about what I'd expect it to be even if I'd use a single line at that time of the day

Thanks ladies.
Linden lass, cannot have one of those you mention, we had one in last house and I thought it was brill.
I have a small line which is in the middle of our small garden and have an option of using one of these at the other end of the garden and just wondering about my options.
Am liking the one you link to Wing..
Singing bear - every other row, sounds like a plan.

Thanks again

I have a portable one and I LOVE it!! I share a garden with my aunt (who lives next door) and she's a bit funny about what goes in the garden. She nearly had a fit when she saw the size of ds' trampoline!! She has a fixed rotary line under a tree but the line is always filthy and the clothes never dry there because it is so shady and sheltered.

With my portable rotary line I can put it wherever I like without worrying about upsetting the neighbours!!!

I've dried 3 loads out there today!
