How would dry a sofa cushion?

DH fell asleep last night with a full can of lager in his hand.

Instead of checking with intelligent person in the house, what would be the best way to clean the lager off the sofa cushion, he dedided it would be a good idea to put the whole thing in the bath and fill the bath

It's going to take days to dry. What would be the quickest way?

what a muppet

I would probably stick it on top of the clothes line in the garden when warm, then in the airing cupboard later.

Actually, I would most likely get a load of towels and wrap the bloody thing in them, and make DH sit on it until he's soaked up most of the water, but then of course you'll have millions of towels to dry,

being particularly helpful today, aren't i?

That's an idea

We only have one washing line, could I peg it do you think?

Rewash it in the machine and leave it on the line until it dries out.

It's the whole cushion. sally not just the cover. I don't think it will fit in the machine.

It might be possible to have it dry cleaned?

hotcrosspurepurple · 03/04/2009 14:42

if it was my cushion I would wring it out until most of the water was out then hang it on the line then pop it in the airing cupboard or lean it up against a radiator

it will probably take a coulpe of days

Sofa cushion is now hung on line. It took all the pegs we had!!!

He is getting ideas about 'cleaning' the rest of them too!!

did it work, or does it still smell of beer?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 04/04/2009 20:35

It looks a lot cleaner. It is still soaked through and drip drying on the line. It will probably be there all week.

We do have a carpet cleaner with an upholstry attatchment he could have used, but no, he decides to give it a bath.

If you still have any radiators on, put it next to one when on. Shouldn't take too long if past the dripping stage
