Cleaning bathroom tiles

I have a new suite, which has highlighted the fact that the grout in my white tiles are filthy!

Is there any way I can make them sparkle? I have bought a white grout paint pen, but need to clean first, is there anything I can use to whiten them first?

Also, some of the tiles have old grout on, from when they where grouted badly before we moved in...just makes the tiles look a bit shabby as they are also tarnished a bit. What can i removed this with?

Thanks!

Hey come on MN, I told DH we could count on you to give us some ingredients to make them sparkle white, don't let me down!

An electric toothbrush and Cillit Bang bleach spray

Domestos Grotbuster got mine looking fab! It is really easy and only takes a few minutes.

Assuming you're not afraid of a few chemicals - then I can recommend Domestos Grotbuster (if only for its fab name ). My tiles, grout etc. were very manky and I was very impressed with the results. Its potent stuff though so squirt it on, leave for a couple of hours and make sure all your bathroom windows are open in the meantime

HG Mould Spray from Lakeland or Homebase.
They also sell a Grout Whitener which I haven't tried, a Sonic Scrubber and a Grout Brush.
(Why am I using all these Capital Letters?)

lovely, I shall try them all! Or rather, with the chemical ones, get DH to do it, being that I am pg, don't wish to breath it all in! I will try everything until my grout sparkles!

I was expecting some vinegar and bicarb concoction!

I would definately try bicarbonate soda and usea toothbrush. I have just done my kitchen floor tiles which were very grubby and they look as good as when they were first laid.
