Please help me with Henry Hoover

I have a Henry Hoover which does the job well EXCEPT that the hose keeps coming off and is a bugger to screw back on. I don't know whether one of the kids was using it and yanked hard on it, but is seems as if the hose has come loose and even after I've carefully tried to screw it back on, it keeps coming off every 5 mins or so.

Design fault? Or am I doing something wrong?

How long have you had it?

Mine did this, partly because I dragged it around by the hose, but I think they're a bit flimsier than they used to be.

If it's within guarantee period, take it back. And always pick it up by the handle, don't pull it by the hose.

ours is, ooh, bout three years old and has never done this. Hope haven't jinxed my henry now...

If it is of any help, you can find Numatic Henry part diagrams online, plus order spare parts.

You can find Numatic Henry Parts Diagrams which will help you identify the part number for your particular model.

A new neck (where the hose joins to the base - thus I am guessing that this could be the part that you may need to replace) is around £5, from Henryvacs.co.uk Spare Parts

Thanks nannynick - I'll have a browse.

Mine have done this aswell. I have had so many henrys over the years, use them for cleaning jobs.

I found that i could get replacement parts from a local hardware/electric shop, the parts aren't specifically for Henry but fit and are cheaper.

I am now after the pink Hattie

I have a 7 year old Henri (In our house he's French). Have not had this problem but you do need to be super careful to get the thread matching correctly, or it will not screw in properly.
We give it a good wiggle.

blossomsmine do you have a Blossom too then?

Hi,
Got a Henry a few months back. Only has one speed setting and picks up great, but how do I prevent it sucking up my rugs etc? Really does my back.in having to keep pulling it off..
Thanks

I love my Hetty Hoover. Have just bought a new head as the old one has been duct-taped together for a while now, and also "treated myself" to a spare filter (both about a fiver) so I can have one in and one being washed/drying etc.

Got them both off Amazon.
