Cleaning stainless steel splashback - help please!?

I've got a nasty grease mark on my stainless steel splashback from the oven vent. Any ideas on what I can use on it? Have tried fairy liquid and bathroom cleaner(!?) but no difference. Also there are other splash marks that look just like water but don't wipe off...

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions would be very gratefully received. Thank you!

I used a cloth (one of those non fluff leaving type ones) and Mr Muscle & some HARD WORK. Worked wonders though and now as long as I keep on top of it it never looks bad or takes as much time.

Good luck

I use cif stainless steel cleaner ir dint laugh but it works a very small amount of olive oil rubbed on in long sweeps takes any streaks away.

or dont sorry one handed typing.

Shiny Sinks cream cleaner buffed off with a microfibre cloth usually works.

Ohhh that sounds good thank you both. Will get some cif and like the olive oil streak solution. (And in future must keep on top of these things)

A little bit of baby oil and a microfibre cloth or 'Method' stainless steel cleaner. I've got a stainless steel fridge and had similar splash marks as it was next to my oven, all gone now!!!

nancy75 · 27/03/2009 21:05

agree with joe, baby oil is the best thing on stainless steel, but you only need a tiny bit.

gigglewitch · 27/03/2009 21:06

we use that scary 'mr muscle multitask' stuff in the spray bottle

Servalan · 27/03/2009 22:17

White vinegar and newspaper?

Use baby oil on a soft cloth. It works like a dream!
