Or not?

I could really do with one because of my wrists, but am skint so thought about maybe looking out for a second hand one.

Not that I have a clue where to start since there are none on ebay that I can find

What about this.

MaggsS · 19/03/2009 11:17

That looks a good deal Lizziemun. Might even get one myself

Galava · 19/03/2009 11:19

Why not ?

It may never have been used ?

AllThreeWays · 19/03/2009 11:20

They are very well made with simple metal parts, I think second hand would be worth the risk ( I saw a documentary on their manufacture)

AllThreeWays · 19/03/2009 11:21

I am refering the the brand 'Kitchen aide" I clicked the link after and thought you might be confused

steamedtreaclesponge · 19/03/2009 11:21

I found one on the street last night, took it home and it works perfectly!

So yes, I would get a second-hand one, as long as you give it a good wash

lucysmam · 19/03/2009 11:25

bargain, lizziemun, thanks for the link. Think I can manage to save enough for one of those over a few weeks.

Galava, that's a good point I'd not thought someone may have got one & never used it. I think I'll save for the one lizzie linked to though, bit more achieveable than a KA!

steamed, wow, lucky you! I'd never find anything so decent on the street round here! Just the odd knackered pram or wrong way out brolly

You could also search under 'food processor' although when i had a quick look on ebay they where all more expensive.

lucysmam · 19/03/2009 11:30

Yeah, I found they were all quite expensive on ebay, that's why I didn't know where to start. The one you linked to will do the job for me though. I'll have a search around under food processor in a while & see what else is around so I can compare them

You found a working Kitchen Aid on the STREET? You lucky, lucky, lucky thing. What colour was it? Say almond and you die.

alibubbles · 20/03/2009 09:20

I asked on my local freecycle for a Kenwood Chef that just may be 'loitering' unused in a kitchen cupboard somewhere.

I was offered one by a chap who said it was his mothers'. I have had it refurbished and it is fabulous! He was thrilled with the free range eggs I took him as a thank you, though not necessary or expected with freecycle.

It is so heavy and solid unlike the modern day models, apparently mine was made in 1975 and should last another 25 years now it has been serviced - Incidentally, no parts needed replacing!

lizziemun · 20/03/2009 11:26

Lucysmam

I saw this one in Asda this morning

bronze · 20/03/2009 11:28

I would
I got my second (or maybe more) hand kenwood chef on ebay. I actually wanted a 70s version as they are so reliable.

lucysmam · 20/03/2009 11:51

thanks for the idea ali, I never thought of freecycle, will put a post on there this afternoon

cheers lizzie, I wouldn't even have to save for that one either, could get it next payday
