AIBU to be so completely freaked out by birds in the attic?

They make me want to go and borrow the neighbours cats.

I can hear them tweeting away.

There is a vent in the bathroom, I think they are sitting next to it having a party.

What can I do? Can I turf them out? What if it is a nest? Can I move it?

Nope, YANBU. We had this problem last year. - they nested in the loft above our bedroom and they made such a noise (and a mess). They used to wake us every morning at daybreak. We got Rentokil in eventually.

I feel for you. But your best course of action is to get that nest removed and any access to your loft blocked so they can't get in again.

Can you just remove the nest then? (well, have it removed, there is no way in hell that I am goign up there)

Try your local council. They may offer a removal service.

It can get disgusting, especially when they poop all over your attic . Actually, they can carry all sorts of diseases (think of avaian flu), so probably best get sorted.

I have an excellent bird catcher, if you want to borrow him? Unfortunately he will leave the remains of his 'present' somewhere nice for you to find. Like the middle of the kitchen floor when you pop downstairs for juice in your bare feet

Or he will bring it still alive and proceed to let ot free in the living room, in front of dd1 and the dog to hunt it again......

He is free of charge and requires only small portions of Hill's cat food and water if you are still interested?

ahem avian

SheSells
Hmm, do you want to come with your cat to Switzerland or just pop him on a plane?

The weather is lovely at the moment, if that is an enticement. I am sitting in the garden.

Bloody birds out here too though.

I'll pop him on a plane. T'will be nice to wake up for a few days and know I am not going to find the remains of his nights work hidden in the kitchen somewhere.

Though I suspose I don't need to worry about mice or rats. Well not live ones anyway.

Niftyblue · 17/03/2009 11:40

Can you call someone out to remove it?

MmeLindt · 17/03/2009 11:43

Fine, first class to Geneva for the kitty.

Will he mind the puppy?

I have called the house maintenence people, they will hopefully send someone out.

No puppys are no problem for him. My 9 week old staffy has already learned what is kittys is kittys and what is hers is kittys.

They do so like to share
