Please help! Can you recommend a cleaner/cleaning company in London?

We want to have a thorough deep clean of our medium sized one bed flat and then someone to come in maybe every 2 weeks.

We though it would work out better to have a company for the deep clean asap (thinking inside/outside kitchen appliances, inside kitchen cupboards, skirting boards, radiators, inside windows, letting bathroom tiles and grouting be white again , vaccuming, etc) and then employ someone directly for the regular cleaning.

Have tried having a look online but there's so much to choose from I don't really know where to start.

Any recommendations and prices very very much appreciated as we're kinda desperate!

try this

AndISayHey · 15/03/2009 17:33

Thanks cilitbang, but like I said in my post I looked online, and as there's loads to choose from it would be nice to have some personal recommendations

Oh sorry, yes I see now you said you've looked online. . I've heard good things about Merry Maids here they are a good, reputable firm so if you are not happy with one cleaner can ask for a different one?

squeaver · 15/03/2009 17:41

excellent but expensive. North London - don't know where you are

AndISayHey · 15/03/2009 18:39

It's ok cilitbang Just checked Merry Maids but they're nowhere near me (E1W), have filled in the form anyway so fingers crossed!

squeaver, thanks for that! We're a bit far from North London but as we're quite central will give them a call tomorrow morning and see what they say By the way, do you know your post about things our parents did was on the Wright Stuff?!

Have also filled in forms perfect cleaning and any clean. Anyone ever heard of them?

DH is telling me not to overreact and not to worry (our previous flat was Rentokilled twice during each Winter for last 2 years...) so this is no big deal

AND

he saw mouse droppings when we moved him at the end of November!!!

I want to fucking whack him

I got some quotes back!

Council pest controller (free) not coming back till next week Still waiting for Rentokil to arrange an appointment (they asked me not too hoover the droppings nor the bits of carpet and skirting board the mice chewed through before they come).

One of the quotes suggested it might take 2 people 12-16 hours to do a spring clean (sent them a list with all I wanted to be done). This would cost £12.00 + VAT per hour (£16.00 if they bring their own cleaning stuff)

The other one thinks it will be 6 hours. £11.00 + VAT if I supply my stuff, £13.00 if they bring theirs.

Thing is I prefer the approach and policies of the first one.

So much stress for a 1 bedroom flat...
