Ds2, 7 months, has just thrown up all over my armchair and carpet (as well as himself and me!). I have mopped it up using warm water and mild disinfectant but I fear it is going to smell...........

Any suggestions welcome!

Bi carb in warm water is a good smell stop IME.

Scrub, scrub, scrub.

no 3 was sick after her evening milk - so eat came up as well

all over me and floor (floorboards) and the disgusting dog was there in seconds licking it all up

Biological washing powder dissolved in warm water.

bicard but in COLD water.

thanks all, I tried bicarb in warm water and so far no smell, although there is still a stain on the carpet.

But next time (and I know there will be many.....) I may try bicarb in cold water and see which I think is best!

When my Ds had a few bed wetting incidents, I used to throw dry bicarb over the wet patch after I'd given it a scrub. Then I would leave it open to the air for the day, cover it over with a thick towel and make the bed. OOnce the bi carb had dried out completely, I'd vacuum it off...No smells!

Oh and my first post was warm water to enable it to dissolve in the water fully. No idea if cold or warm makes a difference tbh.

I suggested this for the 'cleaning windows' thread. Stardrops (less than a pound from Sainsburys) are great. They will probably get rid of the smell and they work for loads of other house hold jobs too.
