This is a question that always stumps DH and me.

Any help out there?

Generally either on the towel rail in the bathroom or a wicker chair in our room.

If they are not dirty why not put them back in the drawer/ wardrobe? If they are clean enough to wear again then it shouldn't be an issue.

agree with devil

but personally i always wear clean fresh clothes every day

might get 2 days wear out from jeans but everything else goes in washing basket

I air them overnight on the bannisters and then hang back in wardrobe

Crikey - stick it back in the wardrobe or wash it! What's with all the faffing about rotating, airing and buying special cupboards??

Excellent thread! I've just ended up with about 6 loads of washing this week as I decided to clear the mountain of worn clothes that had accumulated on a chair in my bedroom . Think I'm going to have to start hanging the worn stuff up to stop it happening again. I find that although the worn clothes are not dirty they tend to pick up cooking smells etc so not keen on mixing them with freshly laundered stuff. I don't like to wear the same stuff everyday though, especially as I might see the same people and some of the stuff I wear round the house I wouldn't like to be seen out in IYKWIM , i.e. jogging bottoms!

I put them on the floor. But don't see anything wrong with putting them back in drawers/wardrobe (am just lazy, plus my drawers are clogged up with clothes I can't breastfeed in or trousers which are still too tight at the moment and we need more drawers... or I need to sort out my unwearables!)

My DP drives me mad - I quite often keep on-the-go clothes (good name btw) like jumpers downstairs so I can put them on quickly if I get cold or need to pop out but every time DP sees any clothes not in their proper place he puts them for washing. This also goes for baby trousers which I haven't bothered to put back on after a nappy change, or ones which I have brought down to put in the changing bag and forgotten to/swapped out. So I end up washing clean things.

I wear shirts and t shirts for 2-3 times. Always check in case they smell before I wear them and wouldn't wear if they did - your body heat can make the smell stronger and make it seem like you haven't washed yourself. Jeans and trousers go for ages though - who smells other peoples' jeans?? Socks and pants are worn once.

Oh and just an idea - why not separate your worn and freshly laundered clothes by putting in separate drawers or on separate sides of the wardrobe?

...Does that need to go on the crap tips thread?

SnowlightMcKenzie · 13/03/2009 16:28

Oh thanks for the tips everyone. Apart from anything else it has reassured me that it is fairly normal to have this problem.

I've had a look at all the products suggested and will ask DH if he thinks one will sit well in our bedroom.
