cleaning leather sofa - what do you use?

how do you clean your leather sofa? I've been using leather wipes but they dry out so quickly that I need 4 or 5 to clean the sofa, and with two grubsters DCs I seem to be constantly cleaning it. Is there anything better / less expensive that I could use instead?

nightshade · 09/03/2009 16:04

bamboobutton · 09/03/2009 16:04

Glass cleaner works wonders

BlueCowWondersWhenItsChocTime · 09/03/2009 16:13

we got a dvd with ours (!) and it said just a barely damp cloth when necessary. Which I took to mean never...

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/03/2009 16:14

I'm sure you aren't a slob, I'd clean mine less often if I could get away with it. It's a soft leather 'matt' one and seems to show up all kinds of mess - grubby handprints, white marks, etc.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll just use a damp cloth then, those leather wipes are a rip-off.

baby wipes

smerchant · 09/03/2009 23:07

johnsons baby wipes are the best.

Dove soap is great, it moisturises the leather as well (a kim and aggie tip).
Mines is cream though, think it may leave residue marks on darker colours.

Please do not use baby wipes to clean leather as they damage the finish on it and eventually it will cost a lot to get it repaired.

Leather wipes are also very inneffective and not a very economical way to clean your suite.

We have used Lazy Leather for the past couple of years and find that it is very good. It is very economical and easy to use.

I think you can get it on ebay
