[a shock] . its driving me nuts. has black mould inside the drawer compartment, really bad where the water comes down. i take the drawer out scrub it and bleach it. ive used my steam cleaner on the inside pthe machine part, but its still black mouldy . can i use the detol mould remover on my machine? or will i ruin it?

I would do a hot cycle with soda chrystals in it, that seems to clean most things!

ive tried that, it works for the drum and diapenser, but not the little holes where the water comes down into the soap dispenser drawer.. i hate this cold fill machine!... never had this problem with my last machine(was a hot and cold one)its supposed to be more enviromental. but how is it if i end up using a ton of bleach/ strong chemicals to clean the farking machine!aaaarghh.

I had the same problem, I use concentrated softner and it was that causing the problem, so now I just dilute it, and touch wood it's 3 months since I last cleaned it out, and it's still nice and clean.

I had this when we used Ecover (in a hot and cold fill washing machine). I switched to Fairy; end of mould.

I've just been trying to sort out black mould spots on the rubber seal of my machine - Aggie of Clean your House fame(writing in Sunday Times) a few weeks ago suggested doing a cycle with a cup of clear vinegar thrown in the drum and run as hot as possible. She said mould build up occurs because we don't do such hot washes these days and all sorts of human detrius (mmmm nice!) builds up so you should run a cycle at least over 60 once a week and leave the door open if possible so the machine dries out properly. I've been trying it and it's certainly helped if not yet completely cleared up.

Might be able to rub the affected bits with vinegar too and leave drawer open...? Clear vinegar is pretty green and cheap!
