Another washing machine question!

Sorry: slightly different from the previous one...

My washing has suddenly stopped smelling of anything. I haven't changed the cycle, powder or conditioner, and I have taken out the drawer and put through the dishwasher (I thought it could be blocked).

I am left with disappointing watery smelling clothes with not the merest slightest waft of freshness.

I wondered if I should use an 'in wash' powder ball but can't find anywhere to buy one, or maybe try an 'in wash' (rather than drawer) liqui-tab thing.

Has anyone any opinion or have I managed to send you all to sleep?

Could YOU possibly have a cold?

Princeonthemove · 02/03/2009 21:57

No but I AM quite possibly really dull...

I'm sure that's not true.

Bounce? If you tumble dry?

I fight desperately to have clothes which smell of nothing when I pull them out - I use scented ironing water and the fragrances can clash if you are not careful, so whatever you've done, if you work it out - can you tell me?

I have indeed purchased some scented ironing water. I have also cleaned the trays again and poured boiling water down. Yes, will keep you posted. You are now involved, you mad, mad fool.

When the washing machine starts to make clothes smell it is usually related to doing low temp washes. Try doing a boil wash (sheets or towels) at least once a week.

This can also happen when you switch to non-bio powders. Again - try doing a boil wash with biological powder once a week.
