Domestos Grotbuster.

The only things I would normally wax lyrical about are food, alcohol, possibly how handsome someone is on the telly, also how Diana Vickers can't sing ... sorry, got sidetracked. But never before have I burst into print about a cleaning product. Ahem. (cough emoticon) But it is WONDERFUL. My previously-skanky, mould-stained bath/shower grout and rubber surrounding strip thingies are glistening and WHITE, which I never thought I would see. Ever.

Just want to share the love.

Nuff said.

the monica in me loves a cleanng tip. thank you!

blossomsmine · 01/03/2009 22:14

I've mentioned that on here before but was amazed when no one else mentioned having used it before It is great isn't it! On special offer in Tesco at the moment, for i think 99p!
I love it on shower screens, i also leave it on the top of my hob for a few mins and it takes all the burnt on stuff off!!

nicsnigsnags · 01/03/2009 22:26

I also gave it a go on the black stuff on the sealant in my shower, just put it on and left it, it was dh who later said that the sealant was white again, didn't even have to scrub or anything, it is very good and I'm not normally enthusiastic about cleaning products but was impressed!

KiwiKat · 01/03/2009 23:00

Glad there are other saddos like-minded, house-proud folk to support me in my Grotbuster joy.

Oh yes, i am a complete saddo lol! Must remember to actually use the stuff next week though!!

nicsnigsnags · 02/03/2009 00:16

looking round my house don't know if "proud" is a term that can be used! saw the mouldy stuff for a while and just decided to give it a squirt one day as I was passing! sure did the job though, wish I could squirt it everywhere and just leave it then come back to a sparkling house. then it really would be a wonder product

PuddingChops · 02/03/2009 00:20

Oh god, I just bought this yesterday and havent had a chance to use it yet. I have an urge to go and spray some on the (very marked) hob now!!!! Time for bed methinks!

KiwiKat · 03/03/2009 14:46

Come on, PuddingChops, you've had plenty of time to play with this now. What's the verdict????

Does it work on skanky old ovens? With no (gulp) hard work involved?

suwoo · 03/03/2009 14:59

I've just elicited an excited 'ooh' to DH and told him to come and read this thread....so, no kiwikat you aren't the only saddo on MN .

Molesworth · 03/03/2009 17:12

I got some today thanks to this thread. My tiles are now being grotbusted

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/03/2009 17:18

Domestos Grotbuster
However I have a box of Oven Pride which has not been opened in three weeks
Now if they invented a product which you buy and then leave on the counter which worked that would be fab

LyraSilvertongue · 03/03/2009 17:22

Dettox mould and mildew cleaner is pretty good too (green spray bottle). A quick blast all over my bathroom leaves it looking like it was tiled yesterday. It smells pretty strong though so the room needs a lot of airing afterwards.

bananapaddlepop · 03/03/2009 18:19

bloody hell, i bought some of the grotbuster after reading this yesterday. did the filthy grouting and some sealant bits in the bath and it's now bright white! wow...

thanks for the tip kiwi.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 03/03/2009 19:28

does it work on natural tiles????

have a filthy slightly unclean bathroom

please tell me it does!!!

Molesworth · 03/03/2009 22:05

Dread to think how environmentally unfriendly it is, but it has completely eliminated my mildewy bits around the bath and the festering areas in the outer regions of the kitchen floor [impressed]

lucysmam · 04/03/2009 12:04

Cheers for the tip, will get some for the grout in the bathroom since I can't get it clean with anything else!

blossomsmine · 04/03/2009 13:14

Dread to think what it does to our insides aswell......breathing it in and all that!! But it works so well, gave my bathroom tiles ago yesterday and they look lovely

Salleroo · 04/03/2009 13:53

The dettox mould and mildew was my find too but am off to buy this stuff when dd wakes up!!! LOve a good spot of cleaning

KiwiKat · 04/03/2009 14:28

Would you say I've started a new cult here? Worship the Grotbuster? (Shades of The Life of Brian...) Now all I need to do is find something that melts away hip and bum fat just as easily, and I'll be content!

Salleroo · 07/03/2009 10:42

Have just made a purchase. Sad to say had to pay the full £2 and disappointed it doesnt come with a spray for ease of distribution like my current fave. I am about to apply liberally to grotty tiles, will report back with my findings.

Salleroo · 08/03/2009 20:39

Sorry guys, it did the job, but after two applications and my tiles are not the grotty! And it made my eyes water, that is lethal stuff. Dettox Mould and Mildew is still my favourite, strong smell not withstanding.

KiwiKat · 08/03/2009 22:40

Unbeliever! I still love it.

But I do see the appeal of a spray, so might try Detox Mould and Mildew as well.

Rollmops · 09/03/2009 12:58

Is the wonder product called 'Grotbuster Bleach' or is there another type of Grotbuster lurking out there? I need to know!
(Rollmops furiously amending her delivery order.....)

KiwiKat · 09/03/2009 14:04

Just Domestos Grotbuster, as far as I know. I may even upload before and after pics ...
